WTF is she still driving for....take her licence off her if she can't do it safely! FFF!!!???!!

We are not all stupid like you Quick_Stix...I'm sorry to say it but you are stupid! You reasoning skills seem to be completely removed from what brain you have left...It seems the brain washing they gave you at the academy has worked wonders and turned YOU into who you flippantly criticized by writing some vague, irrelevant point about hating Jews... my young NAZI! GROW UP FFF!

I for one am a free thinker not controlled by any governments agenda an look for solutions with AN OPEN MIND! People have a right to look at, decide for and criticize ANY Governments laws and their intention...this is called DEMOCRACY. This is what I am doing regarding speed limits imposed by the powers that be.It appears the you are a wanker who wants everyone to shut up and just do what they are told!? Nice one mate! Think about your last post and what dribble was coming from you mouth (figuratively speaking)...this is a discussion about the relevance of certain speed limits not politics...stay on topic!

Talking about other cultures and their attitudes towards a topic under discussion does not entail 'politics,' merely showing that their are different ways to look a things... can you comprehend that?

After knowing my partner is German, you personally attacked me/us with loose lipped comments regarding Germany and their history. So once again Quick_Stix you are the one who fails to see reality as the rest of us can....BTW, I noticed you have no answers regarding my comments on 'Free speech' and the right to critisize the laws in force at present. Further, it is clear that you do think like a Nazi with comments like "Maybe if we banned A current affair and today tonight it might help..."

Police state here we come! good one mate!

Some good points here - Germany invest alot more money in there roads also, and are fastidiously maintained making it safe to do the speeds you can on the autobahn
For us to get to that point would require upgrading our current infrastructure!

but back to the original post
I definantly do think you get targeted more riding a motorbike than driving!

Not as much as NZ would need to spend. There is no way NZ (and I suspect Oz) could do what they have done in Germany...I don't suggest we do. We don't have the general populations attitude and would need generations to pass before we would. The point was that 'speed in itself is not evil' as police on this side of the world would have us believe..BS.

Funny, I have not received one speeding ticket while riding, but plenty while in the car. I'm in Sales so therefor I am a major financial contributor to our socialist society here in NZ ;). Also, the people I ride with all tend to like to go a little faster than me a so if we do encounter the law it's not me their after

I would not bother biggles, the brain washing stuck on this one. Back on topic they are collecting data for their new computer system.

No that was not an attack on you or your partner, sorry if you took it that way, i was referring this to the irresponsible attitude of the government.

You are well and truly entitled to your 'free speech' and ideas. I never said you werent. I am just arguing for my point of view as are you. you will agree that I am entitled to y free speach also. As far as being single minded and obeying what the government states, did you know that the police are not controlled by the government? the police force stays the same no matter which government is in power. Yes we police the laws brought in by the government but this does not mean we necessarily agree with them. All officer have sworn an oath to uphold these laws "without favour or affection" meaning we must enforce all the laws, not just the ones we agree with. Obviously I agree with this issue of speed zones and RBTs.

As with the ACA and TT comment I was being sarcastic and merely meant that these shows promote public hype in unsubstantiated claims to do with matters such as speed cameras being un-callibrated and therefore innaccurate. These shows do not base their claims on any fact. however the public views it and the majority take it as gospel.

130 is the maximum, not the speed that she *has* to travel at. If she only feels comfortable driving at 100kmh, then she can quite freely travel at that speed. But why the hell should her safe travelling speed dictate what the rest of the population travel at ??

The point I was making was about 'speeding' fines being dished out for travelling at a speed that is lower than the design specification of the actual road itself. This has *nothing* to do with safety per se, and *everything* to do with raising revenue !
....What you are saying is that the safety factor on the hwy to goulburn is the same at 110 as it would be at 130?
What I was saying was that the road itself was designed for travelling safely at 130kmh. A lot of vehicles that use the road aren't safe at 110kmh either !!
....People need to get out of the mindset that all decisions are based on the government trying to raise revenue. Maybe if we banned A current affair and today tonight it might help...
Not all decisions are based on revenue raising. But setting an arbitrary limit of 110kmh on 4-lane highways that were designed for 130kmh speeds is.

A 2-lane piece of blacktop out the back of anywhere in NSW has a 110kmh limit - and this is probably appropriate for shitty sections of bumpy tree-lined 2-lane tarmac - But to have the same limit imposed on a 4-lane highway ??? Give me a break, the roads are designed for use at different speeds, and Blind Freddy can see that.

German citizens use the autobahns every day at legal speeds we can only dream of. Try telling the Germans that speed kills - over there, going too slow is the problem ! ;)

I don't get you...how are they irresponsible by making people responsible for their actions?

Obviously!

Never a truer word than that which is spoken in jest! You still think like a Nazi mate!

Anyway, I have a feeling we are boring the general population of this forum and hence I will restrain anymore comment on this matter for the moment... I believe I have said my piece and people can see the truth regardless of what is said from this point. Unfortunately Quick_Stix I would not categorize you as a 'good cop' (based solely on what I have read here) no matter even if you are a 'good bloke.' I would strongly suggest that you think less like a Robot (I'm being serious here) and more like a civilian for a moment and maybe you might learn something.

If thats your opinion, good on ya then. Obviously I did not realise that you are in sales and therefore an expert on road craft. road design and legislation...i thought you were going off what people had told you  If thinking from the perspective of upholding the law is thinking like a robot and nazi well so be it, thats what i am paid to do. If you can judge my professionalism via this exchange then you are extremely inciteful indeed. How about you wait until you come over here and maybe we will meet whilst i am working and you came make a more informed judgement then, but you will no doubt be obeying our laws, so we will probably never have the opportunity...

Yay! Back on topic. :D

Sad to see us turning against each other. I have noticed the riding culture changing over the last year. Less nodding to one another, more bickering amongst the ranks.

We are a minority- let's stick together. ;)
