The agony and the ecstasy (Slightly graphic)

Post by Flywheels MC »

Someone asked me a while ago about my crash last year and I said I would post photos on the forum. Can't remember who it was but here you go:
List of injuries:
Shattered femur
Shattered patella
Broken knee joint
Broken collar bone
Broken shoulder blade
Both hands broken
Result of low side at 140kph on cold road with cold tyres at 3.00am (After the Australia vs Italy soccer world cup game)
I was messing around (Mono) in a 50kph zone (William st, Darlinghurst) so completely my fault. If theres anything to be learned here it's don't push a risky situation like I did.
Nick

Squid is a term refering to someone who rides with little or no protective clothing.

Don't worry about the bike, it's only a Honda :D

Interesting injury list, esp for a low side - did u stop against something hard?

a squid has no protective gear in nature (unlike a crab or crayfish)
and
neither do riders who wear stuff like shorts or tees....or thongs

Nice. I just used an acronym finder and it says SQUID - Super Quick Until I Die (Motorcycling slang). Which I thought was pretty cool!
Yeah, I still squid (both versions)... I find if I don't wear a jacket I don't ride as fast... If I go for a proper ride though it's the full outfit and I only squid around the city where I'm not supposed to exceed 59kph anyway...

It was loss of front wheel traction climbing through a rolling stoppie. Came down from a long way up and hit something hard, the road! Rolled about twenty metres and ended up in the middle of the intersection. the bike meanwhile hit the median strip, launched about ten metres into the air spraying fuel everywhere and bounced off a car coming the other way. Thankfully I was the only casualty in this little debacle, and the mighty, mighty Fireblade of course

Acronym Definition
HTFU Harden the Freak Up
HTFU Hurry The Freak Up (polite form)
We all know that 'Freak' should be replaced with 'Frig' though. People are too polite these days...
