oh dear, team crashed '07
well, nearly made it through the year...
I started a new job about a year ago and have been commuting on the rex, finally some tosser in a cage caught me out with a stupid lane changing effort, he nearly took out a scooter as well. Basically just tried to avoid him but due to a bit of rain, lost the front and down I went (none pipe side fortunately), since there was no contact it was my fault despite having his rego and a witness.
Insured so no real hardship, and the rex is still rideable:
Thanks to the guys at Flywheels for getting the insurance quote done so quickly, now all approved so just waiting on parts.
Matt

Glad you're ok Matt, kinda sucks that you suffer now from increased insurance premiums due to someone elses stupidity... seems according to those riules you're actually BETTER off (financially at least) actually running INTO the car... it's a fucked up world out there...
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

Shit Matt, that's terrible news. I'm glad you're OK, but damage to your rexxy sux. It seems Flywheels have been getting too much repair work this year from asshole cagers hitting rex riders
Did the cager even stop?

I really wonder why nobody (manufacturers) bothers putting more effort into making crashes cheaper by design.

Glad your in one piece and the rex only marginal in the damage stakes. I've got case saver bars on my for the possibility of putting it down. Use to always have them on the old Zs maybe something for you to look into when get the baby back.

Awwww. Not the rex! Glad to hear the Kerker is unscathed though. More glad to hear it from you and not from a phone call or a friend - that's much more reassuring. Are you ok? Any damage to you at all?
Did your insurance mention trying to go after the person who caused it? I seem to recall that even without an impact, you can sometimes get the person who caused it if they were doing something reckless or stupid to be held at fault.
Tell Di you have been prescribed some top notch cheese, plenty of red wine and perhaps a few olives, to help you recover

Re: oh dear, team crashed '07
Thanks all, insurance will sort it out, I've got to pay the excess so I guess they won't pursue the driver, but one of (perhaps the only) good things about being on the wrong side of 40 is that insurance and excess are reasonably cheap.
I came out of it ok, I got more damage from most rugby games I played
not that I'd like to try it again.
The bike did crash remarkably well, basically seemed to sit on the barend, rider/pillion peg and stand pickups with some small damage to other bits.
Cheers
Matt

sorry to hear bout this Matt, always sad to hear of a fellow rexxer going down the road.
I actually tried to reply to this last night but the pooter shat itself and was lucky not to end up on the footpath
Main thing is the bike is still rideable and the kerker is safe and didnt get scratched.

I rode to canberra on Friday, through the nasho then down the coast to batemans bay, then up the mountain through braidwood and on to canberra, it rained from about wollongong until just outside canberra, its been a long time since I was so wet, I could have ended the drought with the water I wrung out of my gloves alone

bugger mate..bad news...
so is it worth insurance doing it??
doesnt look too bad...
a set of aftermarket barends, footpegs and levers (if needed) would only be $150 max?? and an engine cover $250ish??
what kinda excess?? if its $400 or more, is it worth doing urself ??
anyway glad ur ok...wonder if u can find the bastard??
