Z750 Servicing
Last night i was reading my Z750 owners manual and it seems you only need a workshop service every 12000 k's, the 6000's are just visual inspections. I was under the impression that oil wouldn't last that long. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Re: Z750 Servicing
Doesn't sound right mate. I do oil every 3000 but the service schedule says 6000. There is a typo in the manual for the 10 which says you don't do oil at 18,000 but it's wrong.
Maybe give Kawasaki Technical services a ring and see what they say

My Zed gets fresh oil every 2000k's & servicing via the service schedule... frequent oil changes will keep your motor happy

Re: Z750 Servicing
Just double checked it, brakes, check at 6000, exhaust butterfly valve cable 6000, oil and filter, 12, 24, 36 etc
On my ZZR600 i could feel when i needed an oil change, usually around 4000-5000, which is why i am wondering about this. I am at 4500 now and will change it soon anyway i just don't see how it could last 4 times as long....having said that a good synthetic oil should last that long, but i am sure my mechanic used pure mineral for the first.

Re: Z750 Servicing
He probably did - Most good workshops will run a new engine in with mineral oil, not full synth. Using mineral oil helps the new engine 'bed-in' properly - Fully synth is too slippery for this !
12k between changes is far too much. I know some Vic members who would have to ride for more than 2 years to reach this number of k's !!
Every 6 months or every 6000km, whatever comes first. Religiously.

Re: Z750 Servicing
most oil reps etc will say that a good top of the line oil will last up to 10,000km.... but how many of us run em that far??
i use to run motul 5100 for 6000km... the last 1000km or so were ussually a bit clunkier...
the new 300V motul is up to 4500km and hasnt missed a beat!!

ER-6 has same service intervals - Major every 12000 - brake pads/lines/fluids visual @ 6000/18000 etc. I do an oil change @ the 6000; Shell SX4.
I've spent over 40 years of my life riding bikes .... the rest of it, I wasted ..
