Re: I wanna 10!
I could potentially agree with this statement
"It doesn't seem to have the go because you are relying on your arse which is a bad judge. "
HOWEVER,
the power difference is quite noticeable just like the z1000 has a better midrange are you gonna to argue that now too?
(my nine is also tweaked)
Even the sales guys at RR said the 10 had less low down punch than a nine. (Not that they are the be all and end all) but I assume they know how to read pamphlets and stats...
I'll find my dyno chart and compare it to the 10 dyno chart FOR MID RANGE. I’m not going to comment on your 2015 bike you went in to the future to get, or the old 05 bike which Ross said has more punch all I can comment on is the 07 I rode over the weekend.
you seem to be missing the point that ive said the 10 is all that and more in its high rev range. but i don't believe you don't have to use that power.
and in regards to this
"The ZX10 will be your master because you will be too shit to ride it properly. Not because you're a girl, but because you're a noob.
But at least you will look cool right?"
i not sure what you mean by "be your master" but it doesnt take much sense to NOT flick the throttle all the way and change gears before reaching the bikes power band. hell the zx6r will be your master if your a noob and ride outside your experiance level.
i don't see whats wrong with some of you people all im saying is that the 07 i rode didn't have to much mid range and Kristy said she was responsible enough to contol her wrist.

I can see you being biased as you own one, so you want to believe it's all thatMick C wrote:ross79 wrote:You still haven't given any evidence to show the 10 has a stronger bottom end. Having riden Wisc's 9 and the 10, I seriously doubt the 10 makes more power down low, in stock form at least.
And you still haven't shown me any evidence that it doesn't have a stronger bottom end...other than what your bottom end told you and sorry mate, I don't trust your bum. If it helps at all I've also ridden examples of all three bikes and my bum tells me that you are wrong. So who's got the most trustworthy bum?

I'll be more inclined to believe an actual dyno comparison.

i had A Z1000, and now have an 04 ZX10R.
the ZX10 wipes the Z1000's ass in every department.
except maybe brake feel, comfort and ease of use.

Re: I wanna 10!
Just for laughs while I'm waiting for home time ...
I've ridden both the 9 (my own and others) and the Crim. The Crim will walk away every time, WHEREVER one is in the rev range. No ifs, ands or buts.
The 9's still a better bike. *ducks*

...and Wisc, you seriously believe a sales guy and marketing hype

I could sit here picking holes in this shit till the cows come home, but you guys have the point to prove so you produce the comparitive dyno charts from the same dyno for all three bikes, chuck in a 12 as well for shits and giggles, and then we can have a valid discussion on their merits.

How many times does it have to be said to sink in?

...at least it's been entertaining

Re: I wanna 10!
Ok never having owned a 9 but reading what some people have said that that 9s have a peak hp around 130.
And having owned two 05 10s i can say that they have 130hp by 8500 to 9000 and go onto 155 to 165 by 12500. The later models generally have more than this from what i have seen. There is no way a stock 9 has more midrange.
What you need to do is ride a 10 with the identical gearing a 9 has stock and then you will really see the difference in powerbands. Even then you wont see the truth as a 10 has a higher first gear than a 9.
All the manufacturors have tamed the bikes down because they have such good power by retarding the timing in the lower gears and fitting tall gearing. To the inexperienced this feels like it has no power but it is there.

Re: I wanna 10!
i rode a zx9r once...i quoted it as a "overweight, underpowered non handling pig" (remeber that Phil?? touchy subject wasnt it?? ...lol)
i rode a 04/05 Crim 10... it gave me boners!!... now that thing didnt like keeping the front wheel down.. i was only abt 70kg at the time...
i ride a z1000... its a little more responsive than the 02 zx9r i rode...handling not quite as good i dont thing, id prefer a few less kg...but boy is it fun..and its amazing how as u get older, ur priorities change- i no-longer need to look like the coolest cat in town with fairings...they just hide the big scary motor anyway
so...maybe the 06/07 10er has been tamed down 4 road use... all bikes need a few tweaks to get the most out of em...
so ill get to the point (yea im actually gunna make one if i can remember it)...
....nope...cant remember it... ahh thats the advantage of not taking shit seriously...
Oh yea..Kristy can buy what ever bloody bike she likes..the fact that 3 of you KEEP GOING ON about it...maybe its not US you are trying to convince??

FARRKKKK,,
I just took the AG100 2 stroke screamer out the shed and it pops monos everywhere - it must have way more power than the 10

and what Phil said.......FFS hurry up and buy one

heh did everyone know that the 06 ZX14 has MUCH less low-down grunt than an 05 ZX12R ?? They feel fully gutless. My arse has had heaps of experience with high-powered motors, and those 14's are gutless as buggery.....
