Post by Gosling1 »

HERE

These are exactly the same as the set I just fitted to the MFP12.

For the discerning ZX12R owner.....

Glen - this mob do ZX10 sets as well, the US e-bay site has them listed. Discerning is a word that I have trouble spelling !!

Ozzx6R - mate they are the ducks guts. I have much better control through the pegs now, mainly because of the grip from the gnurled pegs, vs the stock rubber-topped pegs.....the rubber-top is good to reduce vibes, but the 12 is pretty good in that respect, and you don't feel much extra vibration through these pegs. The improvement in gear-selection is 100% over stock. Absolutely no slop at all in the entire mechanism......gearchanges now are just a 'snick' away......(and stock was not too shabby in the first place  )

Mine are set up with the pegs in the furthest forward / lowest position. Its close to the stock position, maybe 10-15mm back and 10mm up. There are 9 positions to adjust, with about 10mm between adjustments. It seems a lot easier to climb all over the bike now in the twisties ?? Just from the position and solid 'feel' to the pegs........

Narfie - bolted straight up mate. No adapter plates or any of that stuff, these are manufactured specifically for the 12. All the rearsets that this mob do are model-specific, so that makes the conversion really easy. The only things missing were some replacement bolts for the footpeg plates, to bolt them to the frame.

One thing I did forget to mention in the initial post was the surprise in the box from Thailand !!

It was a long tube, with a couple of hard-plastic fittings at either end.......I had no idea what it was, but figured it must have been something that would fit on the bike *somewhere* ??

It was a pair of front-axle crash knobs !!! I will take a picture and bung it up. Have no idea how much these cost on their own, and I didn't order any, but they were included in the package !! :D Gotta be happy with that.....

Anyone get instructions with these?

Reckon I can figure it out, but they would be handy!

Mine came with no instructions too. Pretty easy though, take a couple of hours - MAKE SURE YOU BLUE LOCKTITE EVERYTHING AFTER YOU GET IT INTO THE POSITIONS YOU WANT !!

The only problem I found was that the stock brake line is not long enough to have them set in the most forward lowest position.. I have mine set in the middle rearest and lowest position and they feel good. This is easily fixed with a aftermarket braided line.

Did I mention to use blue locktite, and maybe a dab of red on the actual peg on the left side..

Good luck!

hoffy i think alot of rearsets are the same with the brake line and as you said it makes it easy to justify to the mrs upgrading to a briaded line :)

Wattie's away interstate, so Hoffy doesn't need to justify anything to him at the moment. You'll be in trouble when he gets back and finds out what you've done though Hoffy :D
