Been to both numerous times but like the WSBK much better than the GP!

WSB for me. Closer to the track, less sea of heads to watch the action over, can ride and park the bike trackside, and ride around the track perimeter itself which is excellent. Less weekend warriors, less action from the Bronze, racing is just as good (and more of it), and you can actually get a feed in <1 hour in Cowes on Saturday night.

Having said all that, I will probably do the GP next year, just to catch up with those KSRC members who only do the GP and not the WSB......

If I could, I'd go to both. But due to the finance issue, I can only do one a year and I choose the GP.

Whilst I like the relaxed feel of the supers, it's a bit too "club meet" for me to go spending over a grand on a holiday to PI for.

I love the spectacle and pomp of MotoGP and have more interest in the racing and results. It would be great if less of the yuppy cafe racer type turned up, but I put up with it.

We do both every year but if I had to choose it would be the SBK...
The crowd is smaller and those that attend are more bike enthusiasts than those that attend the GP.
There is also more racing, with more local races and 3 world champ races that are worth watching.
I have no interest in 125 GP and very little interest 250 GP..

Supers for me too. Have attendeed GP a couple f times and SBK a couple of times, not a massive motorbike racing fan but enjoy it nonetheless. SBK is far more relaxed, ride up to the track, do a lap of the track, a little cheaper and less people to fight for viewing space with.

GP has better racing, has a "big international event" feel, and (especially if this year's crowds continue) you have to be VERY dedicated to get a spot on the fence. Cowes goes off with the huge number of people roaming around. Great expo tent, etc.

SBK has a much more relaxed feel, riding around the outside of the track and stopping at the fence on each corner to watch the bikes go past is awesome. Lots of other bikes to perve on. Different crowd composition - higher percentage of enthusiasts, IMO. Much less police on the roads to and from the island - and the weather is usually better for the trip.

If I had to choose only one, I'd stay home for the GP and watch it on TV, as this year we could only just see some turn 4 and Siberia action, and *most* of the superscreen. And I'd ride to the Supers, as the trip down, track side time and trip back are much more enjoyable. Fortunately, I don't have to choose, so I have fun at the manic international circus, then also enjoy the cruisy atmosphere and great adventure of the Supers.

It depends what you like the most. For a first-timer, I'd suggest doing the GP, because it's huge and you watch it all year - it is the "main event" so to speak. For someone who has been to several of both events - I think it comes down to personal preferences. I hate crowds, and coming from Sydney it's not just about the racing, but about the whole trip, so for me it's definitely the Supers that I have more fun at. Others will prefer the GP, for their own reasons, but it's just a preference thing.

We reserved 4 sites for the supers at Boomerang Caravan park in the main street of Cowes when we left on Monday.
If anyone wants to stay there let me know...

There was a shirt in Cowes this year that would be perfect. It said something like:

"My missus said if I went to Phillip Island for the WSBK this year she was leaving me. Damn, I will miss her!"
