Is this the *best* commuter bike out there ?

We all know it's just plastic but why can't kawasaki mould one :?

OK KIDS, it's time to smash your piggy banks, as Yamaha have just unveiled pictures of their new, and rather tasty, YZF-R125.

The bike uses an all-new liquid-cooled, four-valve, single cylinder engine, which Yamaha claim is most powerful 125cc four-stroke motorcycle available. That means about 14bhp in restricted form to you and me.

Seems to be a few of these little 125 four strokes coming out. The Honda's in the latest AMCN. They look pretty cool albeit a little underpowered I think

Why would anyone bother? There are so many great learner approved bikes around these days that you don't need to waste your money on an underpowered screamer.

the best ?

not quite in my opinion

it has some benefits but depends on how far your commute is

for me the VTR250 was a great commuter, along with a ZZR/GPX , they are near ideal commuters imho

It's a 4-stroke and most likely will give 40+km per litre. It's like a scooter but looks good !

So let's say $5 a week , or weekly ride to Reefton for $10

Is a four-stroke 125 geared for 140kph or so the best commuter bike out there? No, it's not, because it puts the rider at real risk of being run over by the delivery van they are unable to out-accelerate.
