Wonder if he had to pay for the motorcycle ..... considering its his fault it was written off... at least his family would get that 10k ....

For those of you wondering at my morbid attention to finances.... funerals are expensive.... imagine if he left a wife and kids behind..... something to cover expenses at a time like that would come in very handy...

and if the guy was paying off the loan and doesnt have loan insurance, it could be the cost of a bike, plus the cost of a funeral ($5k or so).....so it could get real costly...

It's bullshit.

So you do 40km/h over on a big wide open road with no other traffic on it, don't cause an accident, don't come off, and don't come close to causing injury or danger to anyone else... and you get a $700 fine, instant 6 month loss of license AND a court appearance to explain yourself.

But, if you kill someone through a blatantly dangerous and careless act, it is a smaller fine & suspension. I see this shit all the time, and generally you are able to avoid it. When is it that this country will figure out that speed is not dangerous when used appropriately, but people who can't drive are ALWAYS dangerous?

I won't get in a car with my mother because she does this shit all the time, yet comparing driving histories I'm lucky to be alive and she is a shining angel.

yep..i cant get insurance cos ive lost my license a few times (ok well 4 times)... but NO claims in the last 5 yrs (2 in 12 months abt 6-7 yrs ago)... but ive got mates who pay SFA for insurance, and they bloody bounce their cars like a dodgem!!

double standards shit me...
