Just a word of friendly advice to those who tend to not utilise their bikes as often over winter. A few know that I ride down in Melbourne with a bike club. They get out every Sunday, rain, hail, shine! Of late, we have seen some warmer, dryer and sunnier Sundays and have also seen a few members not seen over winter. As a direct result of this, we have unfortunately witnessed a number of crashes. Some serious, some walk away. One thing in common with all three however, is that it was the third ride back for all three of the offs.
I have a theory! I call it third ride syndrome naturally!

1st ride they take it easy, realising how rusty they are very quickly. 2nd ride the pace picks up a touch and they start playing with the mid field. 3rd ride back they are having a bit of a crack with renewed confidence.....................till ambition and ability get mixed......then OMGIGFD!!!!!!!!!!!!
So for all you non-winter riders out there, dragging the old steed out of mothballs, don't just give the bikes a spring tune up, give yourselves one too!!!!
One of them walked away and two were carted away. No terminals thank god, but concerning nonetheless! Plus, it wrecks a good ride out with ya mates!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?
