Nice. And 923,000 yen works out to about $9,800 - even allowing for transport costs, they could probably land them fairly cheaply. But did you notice there's almost none of the export models available domestically? No ZX, no zeds - they save them for the crazy foreigners!
And did you see the retro Mach III 500 triple? I hope they've figured out how to make that sucker handle by now!

At the top right of the page, there are two links: export model, and memory model - click on memory model and then on "500 SS" when the page loads.

Re: Kawasaki home page
It's a bit of a shame. I'm almost tempted to set up a private export of a Mach III replica when I'm over there next year. Only about $3,000 to buy - but then probably at least the same again to ship and get through customs, let alone getting it registered. It'd be a pain in the arse getting parts shipped from Japan all the time too, but I reckon it would be simple enough to do the maintenance on it. Kind of extravagant, but it'd be fun to have!

Re: Kawasaki home page
If you want to share costs I'd get one as well at that price, you might consider that it isn't a replica but a continuation of a model that has already been imported here and so a precedent can be found for the rego.
Wonders if there's a dead frame and engine out there in the fourth dimension?

Re: Kawasaki home page
It's not a replica,it's a continuation, click on Memory model then click on the flash graphics and a floating screen will drop down with W650 and 500SS,click on the 500SS and you will see an original looking 1969 Mach 3 new from the factory with drum brakes and all and its new from the original makers, outstanding work, why restore one when a new one costs $3000AU ex Japan?Neka79 wrote:which one is the mach 3 rep??
It appears to me to be exactly the same bike bar colour that I had in 1970.
