About KSRC For Dummies

Post by Bogan »

OK so I've found this place via Mel, and hanging around on the forum is cool. One day I'll go for a ride with the HCC or go annoy Mick in his shed so I can start looking after tbe bike properly. But what is KSRC, is it a forum with a bunch of cool people as members? Is it a social group who go on rides and go to races and hang out and stuff? The C stands for Club, is there any motorsport afiliation (like my HRA has with CAMS so I can compete)? I haven't paid any joining fees yet and I've been sent stickers and posted heaps of dribble on the forum.

When did it start, how did it start, and why (apart from the above reasons) is it here?

I love it, but I want to know more. At least I do today.

I'd say it's a forum with a bunch of cool people as members, who tend to like socialising and riding bikes and helping each other out with stuff. About as informal as you can get but that's what makes it good..

....oh and it's owned by an evil despot who will strike you down and/or ban you if you give him too much shit. Just kidding Dave's cool, no really he's cool..... ummm did I just get banned.....Doh!
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

It all started when Neka and Mario met each other in a gay bar...

Well, one thing let to another and later that night Neka noticed the word Kawasaki shaved into Mario's back hair. They realised they both rode Kawasaki's and the rest is history...

Dave #1..aka MadKaw started all this lunacy
back in the old days of Yahoo (in 2000...2001??? my memory fails me)
so I am sure he will add more to this tale

but basically Dave started it, neka launched in along with Marz, blackRob
(when he was in synney) and ratMick and it grew
and then old farts like ronster and yoda joined
and it grew
and we had/have rides
have members in all places (cept Aust Antarctic Territory )
have members with no bikes (mina sold his  )
have members with 'other' sportsbikes..of the blue or red variety
but thankkerrist..NONE of the Highly Dangerous variety
we have members with members
and members without

we are a group of like minded sportsbike riders
who go for rides, go to the GP together, drink together, socialize together
we have no elected committee(and thank phark..no politics coz of that)
we pay no fees to join..or leave (a few chip in to keep the forum running)
KSRC does not do rides or events, all members are free to ...and do
arrange rides/pub crawls/BBQs as they wish...

we are BIGGER than the official Kawasaki Riders Club
and Kawasaki Oz (officially) does not give a shit about us
..but some dealers are...ummm heplful.

and most importantly (unlike the Nutider or some other bike sites)
we are treated as adults here, everyone seems to get on ok
(and the TWO idiots in the past 5 or more years who have caused us concern
...one fecked off of his own accord and the other* warned....and he left too)

we also have more Daves and Micks than any other club in the country
Daves..??? last count is we lost count
and Micks??? the lot of 'em are pissed orf at the number of Daves here

there ya go

*immortalized in our version of chicken strips...the kishie
but that is anuvver story

nah mate thats 2 houses down on the left.....

Yoda summed it up pretty well....

Dave originally started the club after also launching a zx7-r site...i think it still kicks along too...... he also started trackdaze for those track loving fans....

yea..a motorcycle forum, for us to find answers, tips, bargains etc... and give us sumthin else to do, bike related when were too pissed/tired/sore/injured/licenseless to go riding...
