Hey I was in the exact same situation (Im only 20 as well so it was only 2 years ago) I wanted to get into bikes but the folks refused. And mum never said "not under my roof" she said "if i park it near the house she would ram her car into it." So i went for my license on my 18th birthday and bought a bike that afternoon mum and dad still hate them but ive had a ZZR250, Yamaha R6 and an R1 and mum hasnt driven into any of them yet.
You know the limits of your parents if they will kick you out then its not worth it, if you know they wont just get a license and bike let them know what your doing and they will learn to accept it. You will never talk them round, just do it and be honest!
Good luck!

Re: parents....?
My old man let me make my own decisions, and left me with one piece of advice: "50% of people can't see you, the other 50% are trying to hit you". Dad used to ride but stopped after starting a family and shortly after having a huuuuuuuge accident, but loves bikes and seems quite happy that I have "found" them.
Mum on the other hand was a little difficult, having nursed him through the hard months after the big off he had and also having had school friends killed on bikes. I just showed up with a buttload of protective gear one day, and two weeks later with a bike. She was never big on it but having done it that way around she knew I was more sensible than your average crotch rocketeer. I also had the advantage of being in my early 20's so she was more accepting of it.
To be honest if I'd had a bike at your age, much less a powerful one, I'd have been dead long before now. If you have to wait a couple of years before you get into them then so be it... a little bit of wisdom never hurt anyone.
At the end of the day... go and get a job and spend YOUR money however YOU like. The only way they can control what you can/can't have is if you let them hold you by the financial balls.

Re: parents....?
well.........once I had ridden a Z50 monkeybike at a local showground aged 8
, Mum knew then that there was no going back !
First ever bike ride, I can still remember it clearly...
The old man used to double Mum around Newcastle on his 350 AJS when they started going out, his Dad (my Pop), used to ride a 350 AJS as well, and one of my uncle's used to run a bike gang (Lambton Cobra's) back in the 50's when he was a (young) ratbag.....just about all Dad's brothers rode bikes at one point or another when they were young........
.....so it was never an issue at our place. The only question was 'when' I would own my own road bike. It was great, M'n'D always supported my riding, and had no issues with all the bikes that used to park in the driveway at home. In Yr 12 I was riding my 125 a 50km round-trip each day to school and back !! A good apprenticeship for a lifetime in the saddle.....
