yea...carbs until abt the 03 zx6r i reckon.....
Ah well Neka, there goes my budget turbo bike (For a Kwaka at least) - Later down the track, I think I could get a T595 Trumpy, (Scandalous I know), they turbo nicely, run a piggy back ECU, not too expensive .... Blow through systems have too many issues to work though, like intercooling, never mind the fuelling setup ....
Actually, I believe the 02 was also carborated, thats the old shape.

Correction, double checked...... apparently it is carborated.......
thats wot i said... "carbs until 03" ..meaning the 02 was the last....

but he wants an EFI bike..so means 03 onwards..

a zx9r streetfighter (using a z1000 EFI) turbo would be super cool... maybe even a early 9 (if u can fit up the EFI) like the barge (96) ..they have a long wheelbase (or so it seems) and weigh a ton, so easy to keep the front down...

this is where i send the "gos signal" asking for confirmation...

The z1000 uses a different head to the later zx9 (whose engine it is based on) - apparently it can be made to fit but it's not straight-forward, and the land-barge (B series zx9) uses a block based on the old zxr750/zx7 motor so it won't even fit a z1000 motor straight in.

Best bet for an injected zx9 seems to be either a C or F series chassis (E series was different again, a bit of an orphan from what I can gather) with a z1000 donor engine - only problem then is you've got to spend a fortune on the z1000 engine to get it to go as well as the original zx9 engine (new cam grind, flow the heads, etc). Of course if you're banging a huffer-puffer on it then you might not care for the extra normally aspirated horsepower.

My ideal turboed bike would be a bit of a sleeper, something like a zrx1100 with a turbo hidden under a bellypan and an EL replica paint job - no farker would expect that :D

for these types of modifications, the best person to be asking is I-K, he has done heaps of mucking around with ZX9's.....

Jock - if its a question about anything built before 1985, no worries I can help  - But I leave the late-model stuff to the late-model experts.......The 4th dimension is my parts shed....... double garage with 4 rows of floor-to-ceiling racks (just like at your friendly wreckers), and a mezzanine level  - its a great place to find bits off old motorcycles.......

So Cmon, who has the itch to build a one off then ?? HUH HUH ??!! :D

My garage currently consists of my fiancees sisters place, with 1 light globe, and no power points .....

However, still managed to build 2 motors and 1 bike there .... Trying circumstances to say the least .....
