Australian MotoGP...to Synney?

Post by Smitty »

Its all over the news todays
the NSW guvmint has a Major Events corporation up and running
and yes..they want it all

http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/ ... 53683.html

The Aus Open tennis, the F1 GP and bugger me..the Oz MotoGP
all to be held sumwhere in Synney..even if they have to buy them

me..?
frankly they can have the tennis and not too fussed about the F1 GP
even if the FA18 flypass before the race is a bonus
but
MotoGP..??? only one home and thats the 'Island

whaddayousthink..? :?

What do I think? I think the island is a great track, it's just too bad its in fuggen Victoria. If they move it to Sydney, I won't have to drive through Melbourne to get to it and there is the off chance that it might actually be sunny.

Well your going to find that most ppl love the Island, from here or Mel, but the Sydney ppl would love to have it here so we dont have to go soooooo far. OYeah & it might be sunny too, with a decent temp to go with it.
1 for Sydney.

PI AND EC sounds good to me.
Why does it have to be OR?

at the moment, we're outdoing Melbourne at everything! Even the weather!

Melbourne always reminds me of that Crowded House song. "4 seasons in one day..."

Has to be PI - one of the world's best tracks - the favourite of the riders. I agree - you can have the F1 we are sick of it.

fallacy :)
according to the Bureau of Meteorology
Sydneys avg annual rainfall is 1217mm
Melbourne...?
660mm
and
Melbourne has on average 143 days a year when it rains
Sydney..?147

Sydney in the beginning of the season and Philip Island in October. That would be the way to go.
Sadly PI isn't what it used to be. Over the last eight years or so the police have destroyed the atmosphere in Cowes at night. Saying that the track itself is more vistor friendly than the creek, but the creek does not have that visious wind coming off Bass Straight.
If we can't have the GP then at least give us the supers.
If Australia can only have one GP then can Sydney swap the Mardi Gras for it??
That would be fair.
Remember, half the people you know are below average.
