pinched off another site:
Anthony West continues to stand in for Kevin Curtain after taking the race win at Silverstone. As with Monza and Silverstone, West has not ridden the Misano circuit before but this hasn't slowed him down at previous rounds. He will be in good company this weekend as almost none of the Supersport riders have ridden the new-look track.
"I'm looking to get another good result this weekend; it'll be nice to race in the dry and warm after Silverstone! I'm excited to go to Misano, especially off the back of my first win for the team," Anthony says. "It'll be a much more level playing field at Misano because very few people have ridden the new track yet. Normally I'm learning the circuit as well as trying to find the right set-up but this time everyone will be in the same boat, which will give me more chance of getting a good qualifying place. I'll start with the same set-up as I had at Silverstone and see where we go from there. I haven't had as much time as I'd like on the bike yet to find a good base setting but I'm not far off. It should be a good weekend."
Oh and as far as Team Sicilia's replacement rider goes, Ive heard Manuel Poggiali or 'Kuba' Smrz.. Be interesting to see how his replacement fares regardless..

Here is a report from motogp.com and a short interview with West. Seems it was a testing ride in absence of de P and OJ.

I would rather see nicky hayden and john hopkins on the green machine for the second half of the season
but if westy got a ride good luck to him.
To tell you the truth if they rang me
I would be asking about their health care plan seeing as how both their race riders and their test rider are battered beyond belief but dont get me wrong the bike is going places it just needs some riders and if you look at where vermulan came relative to hopkins and then see the kwaka in fifth where theres life theres hope hey.
The way rossi and stoner where going at it was pretty to watch and thats the racing we have been missing for a while kwaka just need a rider that has the ability and is committed and randys pulled up a bit sore so i am sure at some stage he has been having a go.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

I think it is rumoured that he may fill in for Britain. It remains to be seen where he rides for the rest of the year. As for next year, seems a lot of the talk points to a Hopkins, Capirossi and RdP lineup. Sounds good to me!

Re:
That's what I read. Perhaps with a bigger budget courtesy of Monster it is possible? Especially if Zook are expanding like is reported then Kawasaki should follow suit. Perhaps it could be a lineup of Hopkins, RdP and West! That would be sensational.Neka79 wrote:think they might run 3 bikes??Zoidberg wrote:I think it is rumoured that he may fill in for Britain. Re: West rides for Kawasaki
Yee Har another aussie and this time on a proper bike. Hope it rains for the rest of the season, except for the Island. I hope he has learnt to be a bit more polite with his comments about the bike and team than has been in the past, justified as the comments may have been or not.
If life is like a box of chocolates, why do I always get the laxettes?
