ZRX versus Zed.
ZRX versus Zed.
I have a yearning to return to the roots of my motorcycling experience and am thinking about a big nudie bike so does anyone have any opinions on the differences between the Z1000 and the ZRX's etc ?
Thank you.
Thank you.

hoffy made my Z looke like a 250, but sometimes ppl say i do too
Zed is awesome, but there is alot of things to do to turn it into a "excellent" bike.
not so sure on the ZRX, i too have not blessed one with my skills...
the doo go like a shot but
if you like changin gears a 7000 rpm instead of 11 on the Z.

the z is a sportsbike with no fairing, the zrx is pretty much your classic ujm.
I love the retro look of my zrx, its an absolute hoot to ride and very comfy for the pillion in a million, whereas the z has a modern look (which I also like, though not sold on this years) much quicker steering and the pillion seat is no different from my old 636, ie, uncomfortable.

i've ridden both, love them both but they are very different animals.
as perviously stated the z is a sportsbike with no fairing, needs to be revved and didnt seem to have as much go as my zx9
the zrx is alot heavier and has soooo much more sheer grunt, no real need to revit over about 7 - unless you are wheelying away from the lights
on the drag strip of course
i love my zrx, have wanted one for about 7 years and now i've got one

zzak - Go the ZRX, its much closer to the bikes of your youth than the new Z1000.
I really enjoyed the couple of test fangs I had on both models (faired and bikini-fairing models...) - they feel *just* like a big ole' mutha from the 80's, with better brakes and handling......
There is an original ELR on e-bay at the moment...........about 8 1/2 thou, only 20k on the clock.......you could get a nice piece of history there...
