hmm, I think you may be in for a bit of a surprise..........the old flat-twins aren't going to rip your arms out of their sockets under acceleration  , but they are *very* deceptive through sweepers etc, they can build up speed very quickly....

A good mate of me and PC's has an old R90/6, fitted with an R100 motor that has had plenty of modifications - this old girl is good for about 220 on a good day, and gives the Pearl a good run for her money  its a great old-school beemer................Strika's handles way better, and has fuel-injection as well.........its biggest limiting factor will be ground clearance !!!

...all that white fairing has to be useful for something, so it's got to make it a bit slipperier through the air.

99 gix 600 it was sproketed down alot, 220 down the straight A EC that was after putting on a speedo healer because it was out alot obviously.

06 zx10 - only done 1 track day on it. But it shows about 263 at redline in 5th which is what I was hitting @ the end of the straight if I had more stick i'm sure I could have been getting into 6th.... But I was enjoying my bike in 1 piece.

The speedo on my '07 10 is 5klm/h SLOW at 100 klm/h, so i imagine it's not far off for '06. (gps verified).
Higher speeds would be futher out i magine, since i don't speed i can't verify.

Last Monday at PI I hit 235 km/h at the braking point on the main straight before chickening out, on an 07 GSXR600. It will go faster if I have the coochies to brake a bit later or enter the straight with some more corner speed...

I suggest the second method mmamster. Get that last lefthander fast
stay off the ripple strip as you exit and get down behind the screen.

Blue14 wrote:Well on my zx12r which is an 05 model, at 297 the speed limiter cuts in, so ive been told by the dealer. Cause i can give you the mail, i aint tryin it !!
The dealer BSed you Blue, I have had the 05 12 off the clock, so have others, thats Busa's that are limited.
Mind you it had PCIII, Microns full sys etc. but the ignition was still the same.
Speedo goes to 280 plus two notches to 300 and then about a 20k gap to the stop, it was on the stop but NO WAY was it doing 320 (200mph).
I have reada lot of 200mph club stuff, so understand just how hard it is to get from 310 to 320kph.
I had a different front sprocket and the speedo wouldnt be accurate anyway.

ZX7R (modded) 280k on speedo, i am guessing 260-270 in reality
81 SD900 Darmah and the MIGHTY NSR150SP both 190k

How cares anyway, it is just HP, there is no skill involved

Very true, but you've got to try it at least once just to see don't you?
