hmmm....
not so sure

in my tech class*..one of the smartarse students
reckoned you couldn't weld cast iron & aluminium alloy

the lecturer did it
..using an old aluminium cooking pot as the filler rod
(after heating the cast iron exhaust manifold in an oven)
and helium (as I remember) as the gas

Im a boilermaker by trade. You can not weld steel, stainless steel, cast iron to aluminium. Only aloy to aloy mate. Stainless to mild steel, yes.
So my suggestion would be solid alloy bar to replace the bolt, or buy a replacement from a wrecker.
Im up in Sydney so cant help ya with that, except some advice.... sorry.

Some of the alloys don't weld very well at all due to porosity and impurities in them , especially cast alloy .
I just paid for my trackday and a new screen.... still have to get a decent set of tires..... I was hoping that I could skimp on this part for this trackday..... The bike was ridden a thousand times like this, so I am not worried about safety.... tis just a requirement that I am trying to fullfill... I find wreckers very hard to deal with.... you ring them up and they wont commit to a price or if they even have it.....

It will definately not be stainless to aluminium mate, Aluminium requires a welder that has an 'alternating current - AC' which will not work on mild or stainless steel, and mild and stainless steels need a welded that uses 'direct current - DC' That is tig welders I am talking about btw. You wil most definately not be able to Mig weld stainless to Aluminium either, the two metals will simply not melt together to form one like they have to to form a weld.

Just for everyones interest, if you are putting stainless and aluminium together, by screwing them or whatever, make sure they are isolated from each other by a thin strip of nylon or plastic or something similar. When stainless and aluminium touch, especially in a marine situation, they will corrode. its all to do with electrolysis.

Thats my useless bits of information for you for the day

How generic are gear levers? I just purchased rearsets for the Honda and will have the stock lever spare - if it fits?
