Stomp Grip {Tank Grip sticky stuff} .

i got me "Stomp Grip" sticky tank grips , for the side of my ZRX fuel tank . they offer great grip , thats if they blo#dy stick to the tank .
i cleaned the tank 3 times , to rid it of oils & polish etc , dryed the tank with hair dryer . after letting the cleaning part settle i began to stick the "Stomp Grips" the right hand side no worries , but the left side sticks on & after several hours bubbles off "big time" . arrggg this is annoying me to no end . so i'll be calling the dealer i bought em from racereplica kawasaki for a solution , i hope they look after me by replacing the faulty glue on the stomp grip patch .
p.s. the Stomp Grip , patches are worth $ 70.00 i'd expect more better quality glue for that money $$ ..

have heard that this stuff works good..just dont want to defame my bike with it...

id much rather fall off and have the bike destroyed..lol (joking)

Use it on my little race bike and think its great. BUT, it is a pain stick down and it does tend to slowly shift when you use it.

I have been interested in Stomp grip, but haven't found anyone up here that sells it, I've been down to Clark Rubber and bought some antislip mate for $4 dollars, I'm going to try that and see how it goes.

Here's something I have tried, something look the best but is a hell of a lot cheaper than StompGrip, might help me decide if I want to shell out $70 for it

I had the same problem with the last Stomp grip I used, fucken expensive shite bubbled up and fell off or squidged around and just didn't hold on. I was bloody furious.

Then one of this site's sponsors told me this:

Once as many bubbles are removed as possible- there are always going to be some, go over the whole pad again with a heat gun. A final step is to press hard all around the edges. Allow 24 hours to cure before riding and locking on and wearing down those sliders.

Ye I know it doesn't look the best but have to try it and see if it is worth shelling out the bucks for this Stomp grip that everyone is talking about, I might have to go out one knight really late so no one sees me and try it.

back in the early days of owning my six I used to use too much mr sheen before going to the track anyways i would bang on the brakes around the back of darlington at about 190kph and go sliding up the tank.

That stomp grip would be the go for a tracky/racebike but the best thing i found so far was lanolin in a spray can, give your leathers a good spray the day before you want to use them and they go really tacky for about a week and you tend to stick to things rather well.

i have stomp grips on my track tank and found it pretty damn awesome especially braking into T2 at EC! stopped me from moving at all under brakes, didnt even have to hold on extra tight!

but same problem with the glue, it seems to be lifting slightly in a few places on mine

but its no real biggy atm

I wonder if Rossi should try this grip stuff? Maybe it'll help him to beat Stoner....

OK, so i'm being sarcastic, but it seems that the only racers who do use it, are those who are sponsored by the company that distributes it.

Ye my son is gay he rides a Suzuki

but I have solved my problem to the eyesore on my tank I took it off and put a bit on the inside of my leathers on the legs, I will see how that goes

well i finally got the stomp grips to stick , i taken the grip off . recleaned the tank & got the hair dryer out , heated the grip & tank . reapplied the stomp grip & its now on like cement , so i am glad it finally worked out .
