I can't reach top-speed at EC, the straight is too short, maybe a ride day at PI would do the trick ?![]()

My TL went fast enough to turn the back tyre an off white/light grey in the middle.. dunno how it happened but it was to do with the speed meantioned over a prolonged period of length.ttc wrote:Mine goes fast enough to rip the rego label holder off one trip back from grafton...

'06 ZX6R 270 indicated bounced off redline but geared 3 teeth up in the rear sprocket.
'06 ZX10R 295 indicated but a bit left in her.
'07 Aprilia SXV450 160 flat chat...
'06 KLX250 maybe 125 downhill.
Its not the spped that scary it when u jump on the brakes hard from high speed is what taked your beath away.

My mate, Nelsman, used to own a GPx750R. On the highway, he has done an indicated 255 Km/h and was still a good 2, 000 RPM under redline.

I suppose I have another couple of bikes that have also done reasonable speeds (for their age
)
Quickest on the Black Pearl is flat-out in top gear at Oran Park. With standard gearing of 15/35 being used at the time, the factory manual shows this gearing, and an RPM of 9,500 (beginning of redline) to equal a top-speed of bang-on 240kmh. Not bad for an old shitter built in 1980....
It was also good for 8,000rpm in top through Turn 1 at EC
roughly 200kmh
The baby Zed 750 (now reincarnated as the 750 MX'er), once pulled 210kmh on a ride home from the middle of NSW. It had a gearsack and soft-panniers fitted at the time
, but pulled to 500rpm under redline in top gear, with a poofteenth of throttle left to go.....it may have gotten another 10 or 20kmh without the touring shit on board.......this was from a bog-stock 1981 z750, it did have one of my *special* exhausts fitted at the time.....
