Insurance: Shannons vs Western QBE
Thanks for the input guys.
I ended up going with QBE, was initially quoted $1300 by them then Shannons quoted $1000. was going to take the policy but QBE have this thing going at the moment where they will beat any written quote.
Told the dealer that the QBE limited use policy was no good to me as it dosent cover comuting to work. the shannons quote was for a limited use policy but it covers comuting. Dealer did me an unlimited use policy for $920, agreed value of $13800, im prett happy with that, probably could have went cheaper but it the same price im paying for my old R6!

Also i wouldn't worry about the e-bike company paying out, they are undersigned by Loyds of london which is one of the largest companies in the world. I have dealt with Loyds a couple of times myself and never had anything bad happen to me, in fact they were really easy to deal with and paid out fast. It's like budgetdirect.com for cars, i have only heard good things and they are far cheaper than most.

With my QBE policy, its $4000 for rider and $2500 for pillion. $664 per year full comp.

i was i the understanding with w/QBE that your insured regardless of where you are in australia.Nafz750 wrote:Ahh sorry I didnt hit enter at the right timeSmitty wrote:Nafz750 wrote:

why would they not insure you for track.
i think more people are reckless on main roads than tracks
my opinion

Re: Insurance: Shannons vs Western QBE
The dealer will be getting paid from QBE, as well as any finance company that they work with.Vukie wrote:Hey guys,
Just orghanising quotes for insurance with these two company's, i had my R6 insured with QBE last year because shannons wouldnt take me because of limited experience. This year with the 636 im eligble but QBE want to beat their price.
The dealer is pushing QBE as he reckons its a superior product but i think they just get some kind of bonus for signing people up with them. Just want to know what you all think of Shannons and if i should go with their limited use policy.
The thing that i like is i only ride 2-3 days a week and shannons will cover me for 'commuting' to work under this policy, QBE wont under their limited use policy. The dealer said he can get a better price for me under their full use policy and i will be covered for all commuting and can ride as much as i want.
Just after opinoins,
Thanks!
Shannons cover the bike as well as riding gear for both the rider and pillion.
Shannons also cover you for rider training. This would apply to Superbike School. You would have to confirm about normal track days. I don't think they do but others have responded saying they do.(check to make sure).
Shannons also can pay by the month.
I have found Shannons to be very easy to deal with.
I hope this helps.
Remember, half the people you know are below average.

Shannons advertising is retarded. 'Enthusiasts' are apparently people who look at their bike, not people who ride it.

Got a quote from insuremyride.com.au? They seemed semi-competitive to me, with the exception of not having agreed value (wanted to insure my Tuono for market value = $17k - wtf?!?).

I'll be having a look at insuremyride.com when it comes to renewal time - they're part of AAMI, offered good premiums and were a fair bit cheaper than QBE when I checked recently.

Arista have come back into line with thier Prices, They were about $50 less then Shannons. I didnt ring QBE, having recently used their Product I thought i would give them sometime to save up for someone elses claim.
Just a note QBE were pretty good to deal with but they USE independant assessors (car assessor in my case) & the money takes a while to get inot your bank account.
