Scary stuff, glad the leathers did the job, hate to think how much skin and bone would have been left on the road had you been squidding.
Heel quick, fight for the insurance. Truckie may be saying you were in his blind-spot, hence the police saying no-ones fault..........
Good luck
P.S. Dont forget to claim for new helmet, jacket etc.
Shit Paulie! I'm glad you're able to tell the story - I can't imagine how much you were shitting yourself when you suddenly realised you had nowhere to go and the truck was still coming over!
Sounds like your gear held up well - I'm surprised the plain jeans did such a good job - very lucky.
Grab the witness details, try first to get them to make a police report, because it will be much easier dealing with the insurance company if the police report says the truck was at fault. Even if you don't get that, it is possible to get their insurance to pay. Stay cool and emotionless about it all - and don't give up until you're satisfied. They'll try and palm you off many times, hoping you'll give up and just go away. Good luck and sorry to hear your baby is flat

I can only echo what the others have said. Get those statements asap, and take no crap from either truckie OR cops. With cops, get badge numbers, and go higher if you must to get results; unless they ride themselves they tend to think anyone on a bike is a 1%er, and therefore at fault. (the ones I know do, anyway)
Get that witness happening. Many years ago I had an accident where I was 0% at fault & the bus that tore off the front of my car his company offered me a measly amount of $. Having a witness made all the difference & the bus company paid up 100% because of the fact that I had a witness prepared to back up what happened.
Sounds like a lucky escape for you.
Holly molly, that's one scary story. As far as I know the white line dividing the lane is classed as a give way line. In order to cross it, you must give way to those already in the lane.
As for insurance, this is why I always have fully comp. In any circumstances the insurance company will pay out, and generally work hard to get their money out of someone else.
bloody hell mate after looking at the pics you are one lucky human!!!
good luck with the insurance shit, a letter drafted up by a lawyer stating you have witnesses etc will get them seriously looking at settling it quicker otherwise they sound like they will deny all.
