$501.20 for the ZZR600, can't find the slip for the breakdown but from memory $53.90 is our "safety" levy.
Not listed as a separate tax anymore, just included in the TAC component with the asterisks so you don't notice it as much, at least that's my theory why it's no longer listed separately.

Not that I am aware...although I believe scooters are slightly cheaper if they are under a certain capacity. XJ900 rego was the same as the ER-5's, and the prices on all rego seems to have actually come down a bit over the last couple of years. This is due to the CTP component being cheaper which is a result of new limits on the amount that can be claimed.Gosling1 wrote:
thanks Felix - thats it in Qld eh, there are no capacity issues up there ?
Anyhow, I've said it before, I'd rather pay $250/year for my licence than the $800+ a year spread amongst the 4 CTP premiums I pay when at most we can only actually drive/ride 2 at a time.

Felix - agree 100%. Ideally, only 1 insurance premium would be charged (based on the biggest capacity bike owned), a roadworthy certificate would be compulsory for each individual vehicle, and you would only *Own 1 plate*, which would be used on whatever vehicle was being used at the time - like you say, we can only ride /drive 1 vehicle at a time.....

cheers mate - bloody hell there must be a lot of variation in NSW for green slips..........all based on age, experience and claims history I guess...........
Your total costs are less than some of the quotes on here *just* for the insurance component....
E-slip - this is an e-tag ?? Would it normally form part of rego costs ?

e-slip was once a pink slip but now some rego checkers do it on line and send it directly to RTA same as CTP green slip is sent when paid, less paper work to take in.
Yes older riders do get some benefit of long years of riding and living in a relatively safe location with a garage for the bike.

Ok, that sounds fair enough.........I think there is something in the Vic rules about insurance costs dropping if you live more than 35km from the CBD ??
No chance of that here, if you live more than 35km from the CBD, you probably live in NSW already !
Where are the WA rates ??

TAC rates go down big time the further you are from the CBD
(reg stays the same)
Ratmick who lives..longaway Kimosabee
from the CBD would NOT be paying full rates for his TAC
cheers
