Who Rides a ZZR600... And what Mods have you done to it???

Post by ZZR KWAKA »

Yeah just after some ideas and peoples thoughts on their Modifications to their own ZZR600. I would like to do some things but dont know where to start, and when I have looked around...Have trouble finding bits that can be added to the ZZR... They only fit the Ninja's etc....

I have thought about changing the seat slightly , exhaust , rear tail and indicators and front screen.....

So.... What year ZZR600 do you ride??

What have you done to it??

Where did you have it done?? And cost if you remember??

And of course are you Glad you made the change....??

And pics if you able too....

Thank you very much in advance to those that help me out..... :P

I've got a '94. It's absolutely stock. The only real issue is ground clearance - I've a lot of scrapes where there shouldn't be any. The suspension is kinda budget. If I keep it (work dependent - I'll know in about a month) it will be getting a shock rebuild.

Then, when funds allow, adjustable dogbones + Ohlins shock, with stiffer springs and revised fork internals in the front. Power's adequate for street riding, but performance can be improved by the usual suspects. A 4-1 exhaust will drop a lot of weight.

In short, bits that make it handle better are preferable to bits that increase top speed. Is it worth it? Fiscally speaking, probably not, but I loves me old ZZR.

I used to have a '98 model.
Added Oggies and a double bubble screen - about $80 and $160 respectively.
Only other thing I would've done would've been an ohlin's rear.

I've got a 96 model, all i've done is repaired it from all the times i've dropped the farking thing DOH! Have added a double bubble though, definately worthwhile, tried bar risers, they sucked, reminds me I have to send them back Carly..

Plan is for Megacycle pipes one day but a suspension rebuild they could certainly use, both back and front, ogh and I need new grips, my rocker no longer rocks, just goes around the block on the throttle grip.

mate things like indicators, mirrors, screen, bar ends, grips etc are reasonably cheap mods, more for bling...
cans are great for sound and look and to lose sum weight...

also braided lines not only look cool, but they help ur bike pull up real quick...

I have the 05 only changes so far are clear indicators, n bar warmers. :D

Glad I wasnt the only one that had issues with the bar risers! Hubby thought I was being a prat when I said it made it all..."wrong"

Want a double bubble but get confused when trying to order.

Oh and stripped the affectionately called "black buttons" back to SSteel on the fairings so it dont look like gramma jones was on the construction line.

I want integrated indicator/mirrors WA drivers are pathetic, not sure if I can get them for it :?:
