Track Bikes

Post by StuMiller »

I'm considering buying a track bike for some fun.

I have owned in the past a 98 ZX-7R and a 05 Zx-10R, although I'm not looking at spending a fortune, something around $5k - $7k.

Any suggestions or places I can look?

Also, some contacts for ride days, new tyres, settings etc??

Older F model ZX6's should be avoided. Parts are getting thin on the ground, and they often consume them. Valves especially! Hate to say it, but with the budget you set yourself, a good ex SS CBR600 would be money well spent. They are a tad more reliable than most of the others from what I've seen. And still manage to hang a decent lap in the right hands! :) They have the benefit of starter motor and alternator, and being only slightly diff to std, they tend not to break as much!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?
