Is inviting someone for a ride just a way to get some?

Post by PinkBike »

:?:

Here's a question out of honest curiosity:

Who actually enjoys having a pillion? And if so, why?

OR: Is asking someone to ride with you, just a way to get some cuddly-feely?

I voted it was about impressing chicks, purely because there wasn't an accurate option for me and that was the funniest.

Personally I don't "like" pillioning but I certainly don't have any problem doing so for transport reasons. I would not pillion someone on a social ride, though.

i started this...lol...

PB asked me abt pillioning and i said i only ever use to do it to impress chicks or try to pick up (pre- gf days) and that most guys i kno really use it for that reason...

personally if im hills scratching id rather not have a pillion..cruising around town..well maybe , but prefer not...

I don't like doing it, but doesn't mean I won't. It can help settle the arse end down over bumpy stuff, but in turn is heavier too.
Not something I tend to offer, but generally don't mind if asked to.

Nothing better than snuggling up on the bike behind someone you love and trust. :D
It is the sexiest thing in the world! Bike and best guy all at once- HOT!
BUT... I have had a serial pest offer me a ride with him and it is repulsive! So I guess it depends on the situation.
I have pillioned with people and hung onto the grab rails with no bodily contact at all. I have also enjoyed having a snuggle behind someone very special to me.

One of the bigger reasons is to demonstrate straight-line acceleration. Some people just don't understand that a motorcycle is faster than their Excel, or their mate's V8 cCommodore.

Take them for a leisurely run up a freeway onramp, and tell them there was plenty left where that came from and you've converted another one :D

When you are a pilion, esp if you don't ride yourself, there is nothing better than having a smile cracking your face wide after having the throttle opened wide up an onramp, or being thrown around in the twisties.

He didn't say it was sexy. He said it was funny...

I must be one of the few people who does like having ballast on the back. The bike is harder work to steer and pull up, but the liberties which can be taken with the back end are just stupid; pick a line, heel the bike over and just wind it on as hard as you like. No need to worry. The tyre will stick. After a bit of practice and getting comfortable with the kicked-out front end and the greater inertia of the bike, it's relatively easy to be no slower up a twisty road two-up than solo...

...provided the bike's up to it; cue memories of Honda CBR600F4i with a stock rear shock wallowing between the bumpstop and the top-out spring while cranked over on the Comenarra Parkway under the combined weight of Seraph and myself.

I have the same approach to pillioning as giving massages; girls and women - game on. Blokes - ummm, OK, but I reserve the right to feel weird about it.
