Jetpilot - look at the photo in your avatar and rethink your comments. A copper in the wrong mood would happily hand you a fine for 'failing to sit astride and facing forwards' and you've got a fine, or a date with a magistrate to argue why you're riding like Valentino on the road - speeding or not!

By the wording, you can be fined for doing a head check, or more realistically for looking through a corner rather than in your immediate vicinity. I'm sure that's not the spirit of it, but it's open to abuse - hence why I'm happy for "operate vehicle in a manner dangerous" because that covers all these other obscure things and the cops have to prove you were dangerous, rather than prove you were in contravention of a poorly worded piece of statute.

As for feet off pegs - when parking, it is necessary to manouvre the bike with the use of the feet on the road, to (a) avoid falling over and (b) to actually move the bike into position. When stopping at an intersection, and operating a vehicle in stop start traffic without lane splitting, it is necessary to remove the feet from the pegs so that you don't crash. You have to take your feet off to move from "toes on pegs" to then operate the rear brake lever. You have to take your feet off to move from "toes on pegs" to then operate the gear lever. You're riding on a piece of forest road and your foot is a little numb but there's nowhere safe to pull over. Rather than being a danger to society by making sure you have bloodflow to your foot, you should be aware that it's much safer to push on unnecessarily in an uncomfortable state when your body is telling you something needs to be done.

These are just classic cases of them knowing better than us, despite not having any idea what they're talking about

I reckon they're just seen a stunting video.

lol welcome to nsw laws. lol

some are just stupid and you think in the world would actually do that? but to many people do hence the law lol

but i ride occasionally without Both feet on pegs as i stretch my legs or kick foot to indicate a rider its safe to go past as im going slower than them etc.

One would hope for common sense on the part of the constabulary.

Common sense? Who needs common sense when you can discriminate?

I've not met a rozzer with an ounce of common sense... and have received two fines in particular that I still can't for the life of me believe I was actually given.

(edit: I'll be nice)
