but of the roads liste i couldnt make up my mind between a few of them. thats why i always try and do my faves each pilgramige to mecca - aka the island
I went the Putty, but given Phil's comment above my opinion may alter after next week. 7 more sleeps
My favourite roads are pretty much most of the twisty bits between Bateman's Bay as the North East point, and Phillip Island as the South West point, and there's still plenty left for me to ride in that lot
To be perfectly honest though, my absolute favourite bit of road consists of only about 6 corners, but I farkin love it, it's only 10 minutes away from my house, and it's the only bit of road that I know I can still get a gap on Gos

Ahhh yes, I think Gos showed me that bit of road Mick! Isn't that basically a straight unless you're doing 280???????????

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

But it wasn't so good that I would rate it above a lot of other good roads in Oz. ??????? The Oxley to me is a bit like Reefton. It's tight and challenging, but it doesn't have the wow factor of roads like Elliots, Omeo/Alpine way etc
fully agree there,ox is good but lacks the excitement factor of a gnarly road, personally prefer something a bit less civilised...lol

Get farked ....the straight is just after them and is where my mates used to dissappear on me when I was on the old GPX250, which was why I tried to get as much speed through these corners as I could to keep up with them. I used to do them at $1.10 on the old GPX250, $1.30 on the ZX9R and currently manage a little over $1.50 on the Crim.
...there's just something about a constant radius, nicely cambered, smooth surfaced series of corners at that speed that just gets me going
....and don't trust Gos, he can never remember where they are until he's in the middle of them
It's Elliots Way for me, it's like the Putty rd was 10 years ago with the boring middle bit removed (5times ina row), it has everything at some point of it, absolutely NO TRAFFIC & the odd Dead animal to keep you awake.
Lots of other Fav's, most of them mentioned.
Esie has named my localish favs'.
Big fan of Black spur in the DRY, Bogong gap, Granya & the Bruxtner.
Quite a few good roads have been buggered by Urban sprawl & i usually give them the flick when that happens.

Nanna Naps on .... MoriWAKI NSR85 (Motolite) ZX10R "Crim"
We may ride like Old Can'ts, But Phuk we look DOOG !!!!!!

the straight is a bit past them , but having followed Mick into those corners a *number* of times now, he sure does love that stretch !!
My fav ? Clyde Mt, only because I have ridden it about 20 squillion times , it never fails to satisfy. The Bega-Bombala stretch through Wyndham/Candelo/Cathcart is really really good, excellent surface, no traffic and no candycars.
".....shut the gate on this one Maxie......it's the ducks guts !!............."
I picked the Gillies out of that lot, but you'd have to group that with the Palmerston, Kuranda and Rex ranges to get the full picture. All four ranges in a day... great fun!
I know you only have so many choices, but the Coromandel Peninsula in N.Z. has to have some of the best riding I've ever done.
That get's my vote too.
Especially going east to west along the top, in the rain.
A3 down the east side - perfect!
West coast - cold ( ) - perfect too (in the rain)
