Not sure on that Poyda re the kwakka Au thing.

I have to go away for work for a few days, will be making some phone calls when i get back :)

Bob the timing chain was an option on the list, and the mechanic who serviced it still thinks it's the likeliest thing, but that doesn't explain how the crc started it.

well Tanya I actually think billy mac is a good fella having had a chat to him a few times but they also might tell you anything because they like things to disappear down the back of the workshop behind little plastic chains.

poyda i rode my 6r from armidale to brisbane and it was bucketing down rain the whole way and i wasn't going slow but it didn't suffer any.

Inside the airbox the first thing the water would hit is a deflecter that would make it settle into the bottom of the box and run out of the supplied drain hole.

then once in the airbox the filter is in the top of box so it cant run up hill to get there...the only way to get water into the throttle bodies is to flood it with a very large volume of water and i dont think a garden hose would do it either.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Hey Tanya, sorry to hear this. I would go straight to the top. Contact Kawasaki Japan and attach this post as well. If they don't sort this out well then I'm buying a Honda.....

Ps. I once had a problem with a helmet and went straight to the manufacturer in Italy. I received a new visor and bits the very next day via express post....

Yeah, they've looked after me pretty well too, and have certainly been good about the warranty claims I've had for the cracked plastic on the 10...which leads me to believe that Kwaka Oz just go off, and back, what the dealer says in most situations.

I could not agree more. Mike and the guys at Canberra are great. If it was not so far to take my bike they would get all of my service.

As for after market additions affecting warranty the answer is they do. But only if the parts are related to the damage. If the after market parts cause the damage or cause progressive damage then they will not cover the repairs under warranty. This is worth chasing and if Kawasaki don't come to the party then I would threaten them with legal action. If you have half a case you will win. The little guy always does.
Try speaking to the manager of Technical services first. If you get no satisfaction try the National manager. This should be done before threatening with legal action.

Ive had a couple warranty claims on jezzabelle

First one was within the first week, parked it, was riding the 10 (04 model) mostly at the time, came back from a weekend of lunacy and found my beautiful 12 sitting in a 3 foot wide pool of fuel

Ring Parramatta Kawasaki (before Team Moto) - Bring Bike down asap, did so, scratching of heads was done, kawasaki was called, kawasaki ummed and ahhed to which i flipped out and grabbed the phone and asked in very direct terms if the person had a desire to be anally raped by a dick fit for an elephant when consumer affairs got a hold of this, new fuel tank arrived 3 hours later

Second one was those stupid bolts that stick out of the ducktail, one of the caged nut things that sits in the sub frame has spun, team moto wont fix it coz they dont have the rivet type gun thingy to put a new one in :x
still no joy on that one

3rd one was the red lead going to the tail lights, it pulled out of the light socket and shorted out the PC3, Kawasaki ummed and ahhed because of undertail fitted to which i responded to the mechanic, dont give me the shits, that wire hasnt been touched since you used it to power the PC3, so i dont give 2 fucks whos paying for it but one of you is.
Wiring loom for ducktail replaced next day

Kawasaki are fine, so long as you deal with em with a blunt instrument, and have enough knowledge to know when theyre trying to bullshit you

I had the same problem. Its a bitch, but Araldite is your *only* friend in this situation. And don't tighten the fixing up too tight......

OK update, I've been away for 3 days :)

I talked to Tony at Midtown Kawasaki yesterday, yes he says, we've had that before, and no way is it caused by you washing the bike or water in any way.

I'm not technical, but basically something in the fuel causes a build up somewhere in the fuel system. It then causes the fuel to flood the engine, washing the rings out, therefore no compression. This explains why the bike started, then stopped, when it started basically the heavens opened and it got too much fuel.
The crc got the rings to come good again, he said they normally use oil.

It has been reported to Kawasaki as something they do, so they do know about it, just refused to listen to me.

Tony said he was talking to Kawasaki later that day(the guy who's giving me the run around), and he'd mention it to them.. They sent me an email monday, haven't had one since..
