I replaced them with the same Carbon based pads from Road Rocket that I had in it previously. I found these pads to be very strong and consistent, without any detrimental wear or damage to the rotors.
I put these pads in the bike just after I got it, so they have done over 20,000 klms including a track day at the creek, and still have about 4000k's left in them at a gestimate. So pretty happy with that all in all.
The chain and sprockets will need replacing also prior to the Snowies trip. they too have done over 20,000 k's! The sprockets are still almost perfect, but I have just started to have to adjust the chain after about every 1000k's, so it's on it's way out. It too will probably do another 10,000 till it's fecked, however, as we have the snowies trip coming up, and I would estimate that I will do probably 4000k's on it, (Melb-CBR-P.I.-CBR-SYD-Melb!), then I should really replace it now rather than risk having to get it done while I'm away without my tools and workshop handy! I hate paying people to do the simple stuff if I can avoid it.
