WOW BIG surprise, one rule for the common man and another rule for celebs, cops and pollies, now for something completely different??
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

Well this really makes me see Red  Why the hell should he be treated different? he done it twice in a car with passengers on a bloody freeway where obviously he would be putting alot of other people at risk...

I reckon cause he is a cop he SHOULD get a harsher penalty as he would know the road rules better then anyone else plus he was abusing his powers...

I could rant & rave on about this for ages :x but in the end its not going to do me or anyone else any favours, all this proves is how stuffed up the legal system really is

Seems to me that he got the same penalty that "most" drivers would get in the circumstances. IE: big fine and loss of licence.

How the Police department justify him keeping his job is beyond me tho.

Most drivers? what qualifys as "most" drivers?

Dont get me wrong im not trying to start an arguement but if an average Joe got busted speeding 200km/h + not once but twice he would only cop a fine and a loss of licence for abit over 12 months?

I honetly find that hard to believe :?

Most as in, ummm.... most.

I've heard of it happening here on the odd occasion. One chump got done twice on the same day. Copped a huge fine and several years suspension.

Courts are reluctant to send people to prison over traffic matters and unless there is more to the story, I still can not understand why you are on HD mate.

I can. He's on HD because his lawyer did not sufficiently push the angle that his bike in incapable of what he was accused of having done, and because he didn't appeal the magistrate's decision to the District Court.

Are you allowed to "practice" high speed pursuit Aardy ??
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

Talking to a few of Tones cop mates they said the same thing. Most would lose there car now too under the hoon law. We don't know your past driving offences, or if you have had any other charges but I was told also that if they all happen within five years of each other they tend to be a tad more harsh.
If I speed the once and got caught and slapped with HD for sure I would make a HUGE stink and it would be all over the TV but IF I had priors (NOT referring to u btw just as example) and kept dong it then I would cop it sweet.

Yeah i do have a few priors on my car licence, but ever since i got done... ive been reading the local paper, and they are sending guys to jail for less then what i done... They are cracking down on speeding bigtime around here... but like i said i was trying to create an argue ment i just still think if it was normal person they would of gotten raped...
