Demerit points question

Post by Colette »

Just checked my demerit points online and am a little confused..I thought points remained for three years only, isn't that right?

My account states that my last offence was 27th Jan 2004 (see pic), so isn't that over three years now?

Err if you lost points in Nov 06 then you won't see them back for a while yet.. if however you were expecting points back in Nov 06, i'd definately be making a phone call..

You might need to check your local regulations - down here, the points are counted from the date that the fine is paid, not the date of the offence. So if you paid this fine off by the 20th February 2004 (for example), then you would not see the points come off the total until 21 February 2007.

My experience with demerit points in the local jurisdiction is *vast*.....
