what bike stuff to buy in tokyo?

Post by MrStompy »

So im off to japan in a week for a snowboarding trip.
on the way back ive got 4 days to spend in tokyo.

Im definately going to go check out "Bike Town" (see Gonzo's post below)

http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... town+tokyo

apparantly most bike accessories prices are comparable to here.
what i wanted to know is if there is some bike stuff or brands that are definately much cheaper to buy in japan rather than here.

stuff that i want/need are exhaust, brake lines, seat cowl, gloves, rear sets. Do you know if there are any brands of these things that are much cheaper to buy in Japan rather than here?

my web searching has been fairly fruitless cause its in japanese (funny that huh)

Japan ???  Did you say TOKYO ????? :P :P :P

The shops you need to visit are Whitehouse ( MFP Clothing Branch), and PMC Inc. (Performance Machine Company) and Doremi Collection- these guys do *The Best* Zed accesories in the world.

Of course this is only if you are a Zed nutter ..........

Remember my tip: Ueno station > walk AWAY from Ueno park...

Otherwise you endup like some sort of muppet wandering the streets of Tokyo lost...

make sure theres no laws about parts being marked for aussie use or whatever... and that they all meet the ADR's otherwise you might end up spending twice that to get them off and approved parts fitted.

it would only be a problem for rego inspections, etc. For normal daily use, how many times has your bike been checked for ADR-compliant anything ?? If I were in your shoes, I would be getting my grubby little pawsd on as much tricky bling as possible, just about anything you get over there will be unavailable back here.........

Enjoy the trip !!
