hi all,

im looking at bigger bikes and was wondering which would be better, the zx600r or the z750? ill be up grading from a zzr 250.

ive also been told there was a thread on this topic her some where can u help me find it?

if new-
sports..go the Zx6r (my choice)
less sporty ....Z750
more laid back..ZZR600

thinking of new or at max 12 months old.

plan is to get away from the zzr style and get a bit more sporty , i wonder why?????

Depends on what your primary type of riding is and what fits you best I guess.

Try sitting on a few different bikes at showrooms to get a feel for them - at least it will give you a better idea (and it's a good excuse to go and look at bikes! )

my riding is limited to decent waether days and overnite rides ie social rider/fair weather rider. but when im out i like to have bit of fun on the bike

Test ride every bike you can get onto, then make a choice, after checking in here that it's a good bike at a good price...

Ohh, bike testing time! The best time of your life, deciding which bike to get! Well I stepped up to the 2004 ZX6R from my 2000 ZZR250. Sure there is heaps more power but the Zed Sled was a serious hoot to ride, a lot more fun than the 6R I reckon. Depends if you are looking for supersport (ZX6R), sport (Z750) or sports tourer (ZZR600) of course your height and circumstance would come into it such as if you have to commute on it a lot and blah blah etc etc. Just shop around and see what you like.

I agree with Flakey, test ride and test ride again. Make sure they are long test rides so you know how it feels to be in the saddle for a while.

Firstly stay on a Kwiks-saki which it seems you will. Next thing is physical size such as seat Height, weight, riding position. Most likely scenerio is it falling over (lets be ready for that) while your going slow so dont foget to push them around with motor turned off as part of the test rides. Three point turns etc.
The Naked Bike Z750 would be way cheaper to fix after it rolls off the side stand at the servo & it has the lowest seat height of the current crop, not by much though, the ZZR600 is the lowest seat height by heaps & will cost most to fix n be hardest to pick up as its the heaviest by a fair bit.
My advice would be an 02 ZX6R Lowest seat ht of the zx6rs n best looking by a mile, new enough to get a good one old enough to not cost too much.

Well I love my Z750 and they're doing some great deals on them - $11,000 ride-away is hard to argue with foor a brand new bike.
If you plan to do a fair bit of highway riding the lack of fairing will be the only problem.
I have soft spot for the old shape ZX6R's (02 ZX636 is even better) and if you want something sporty but not a full-on race-rep, they are spot-on.
They're holding a good price though and you'll probably be able to get the one of the later models for about the same price.
The 2003/04 ZX6R's are amazing. A motor designed by the devil himself but they are very firm in the suspension and just about the most extreme ride position of any Jap bike.

BUT it comes down to which one YOU feel most comfortable on so to repeat what every one else has said so-far,take them all for a decent test-ride and you'll be able to decide yourself. They are chalk & cheese really so you'll know almost right away which one is best for you. [/b]

I'll up/side grade soon...but I have to buy a 2fifdy 4 T first then I can get what I want when I sell the children....
