How Much!! relay unit plug Advice

Post by Pabs »

All jokes aside,
I got quoted $110 for this plug which goes/plugs into main relay unit(on top off)

The plug shite itself&melted onto the relay unit
Relay unit looks ok
I've done all the work, bike is at home ,this is for the plug only:twisted:

Does this sound right?? any had same prob on price of small electrical plug

ZZR1100 and ZZR1200 run the same plug- probably lotsa other bikes too- hit the wreckers- should cost you cents. :)
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

Relay is about $100-120. I got a brand new one on ebay for my GT recently for $20. If yours works( starts the bike ) might not be worth a new one. :D The whole wiring harness (excluding the starter heavy wiring) goes through that plug- main fuse is there. Pretty important plug.

For this kind of plugs etc, I usually get them for free from my local friendly wreckers.

I think from memory you could squeeze two female spade lug connectors into the recess in the relay, as long as you kept them insulated well enough. The plug does keep the main fuse in too, so I would only do this as a temporary measure. :)
