If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

This is WAY too wierd, valves dont "stick" and get loosened by CRC.
What a crock of shit, Tanya they are treating you BAD.
Dont you have a friend at Springwood Spewzuki you can trust ??
Isnt this bike still under warranty (not that it means anything to Kwaka from experience of me and others).
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

Valves would not seize at 13 and a half k.
However i had a mates triumph do the same sort of thing.
It lost compression in 2 cylinders.
Turned out being the 2 bolts that hold the camshaft sprocket to the camshaft came loose and then dropped out into the camchain tunnel, hence when the motor was turned over the sprocket was turning but not the camshaft.Thing is though you say that sometimes it goes and sometimes it doesnt? If this was the prob,it wouldnt go at all, full stop.
Just a thought anyway.Sounds like you need someone compitant to look at your bike.I wouldnt trade it in as is though, you will get stuff all for it not going. If its under warranty, take it back to kawasaki, easy as that really.Warranty is a funny thing though,if they find out you have a pc,an after market pipe or anything like that, they can use that as an excuse for it not to be warranty.Once you have dicked around with anything that isnt std from the manufacturer,it gives them an out.

It ran for about 2 secs, stopped and wouldn't restart.
I picked it up and rode it to the other mechanic, where it is now, it seemed to be ok, but I seriously babied it and it's only about 1.5km. He's going to go over it with a fine tooth comb, if anything is wrong he'll let me know.

If he has his doubts about it, it'll be traded asap. But not before I pull all the goodies off it and sell them privately cos they mean nothing in trade value. If he says it's 100% then I'll keep it a bit longer, after them telling me it's only worth 9g as a trade, modded or not.

Warranty could be an issue with the bike having pipes, p/c, k & N etc..

Yeah i did buy it new.. put 13500km on it since march too :D

The mechanic hasn't had too much chance to look at it yet.
His instructions are to find out why.. and if he thinks its a major problem to start pulling all the bling off it so i can get rid of it and sell the bits seperately.
If it's something really freakish not likely to happen again I'll keep it for a bit longer.

The official explanation is that water has got in it from being washed and not started therefore valves have corroded causing them to seize. So as far as they're concerned it's not warranty.

it gets washed with a spray bottle
and why would it start, then stop?
and why would the valves in 1 and 4 seize more than 2 and 3, and all at once?
and could this have something to do with it misbehaving?

Hoping to hear from mechanic tomorrow if not the weekend

ttc wrote:I had to pay them... they didn't consider it warranty

The invoice says 4 plugs
$100 to pick bike up and make it start
$5 fuel (tank was full - assuming they drained it)
$20 to pick it up
+ workshop stuff
total $170
if the tank was full then why pay $5 for fuel

what workshop stuff ? rubbish collection for 4 spark plugs ?
