Biaggi, Melandri, Rossi all show pretty stereotypical Italian character, this is just from my experience. Most Italians have huge ego's, or at least as a display anyway. Capirossi seems like some kind of quiet farmer country-boy in comparison. Plus as some guy above said, unless you've actually met them you are probably better off not saying anything bad about them.
bananas -> bigger and harder than you !

Most Italians have huge ego's? Nah I dont buy that.
The funny thing is we are talking about a bunch of the best motorcycle riders in the world - they are all going to have huge ego's! Some will just put it out there more than others. None of them wouldnt be there unless they possessed confidence to the point of arrogance.
On one side you Biaggi, and on the other you have someone like Chili but both are Italian.. Nothing to do with their heritage, you get whiners in every country.

God I feel like I'm back in the 1990's with people getting all fussed up about stereotypes. Huge ego is not necessarily a BAD thing, alot of them have good humour about it. I've been out, I can still speak some Italian, my girlfriend is going to Italy for 5 months, known plenty of exchange students, met plenty of Italians, love the cinema, the people, and am planning a trip after I finish my degree to do a working holiday.
Get over it you overly touchy patriotic Italians

well they do have big ego's, but some of them are much better at keeping their ego in check than others. Max is a really good rider, but he is also regarded as a wanker by lots of people...........Frankie Chilli is also a great rider, but people love Frankie Chilli, and that is because he is a nice guy........Troy Bayliss is another example of a rider who can keep a lid on his ego without *any* problem.....Nucci wrote:.....The funny thing is we are talking about a bunch of the best motorcycle riders in the world - they are all going to have huge ego's! That's the only way he can get people to like him.andrew.k wrote:I've met the bloke 4 or 5 times over the years & away from the track he is a nice bloke willing to have a chat & sign shit.
Sure, the bloke can ride a bit, but when things don't go his way it's either:
1) The bike
2) The team
3) Because he was having to race against Rossi, even before Rossi started racing.
4) Anything other than himself.
Like I said, he's a sook.
