on what bike tho?? all tyres have different ratings..and different bikes, have different weights (as do riders) which can affect it.,..matt76 wrote:I would go higher on the air pressures to be honest, I drop mine to 28 for the track anfd run about 34 on the street.

Tick for the 28/32, pretty sure it's closer to 7k-7.5k RPM @ 100km/h.Brian123 wrote:The vin on the frame of my ninja250/gpx250 says 28 psi for the front and 32 psi for the rear, although Ive heard of people running 30 and 34. At 60 mph/100kmh I think Im pulling around 8000 rpm in 6th. Your bike should be pulling less rpm's because of the 15 tooth front sprocket. As far as the 15 tooth front sprocket helping your top end it will increase your gas mileage and be easier on the engine but I doubt it will increase your top speed. The 15 tooth sprocket will slow down your acceleration a little.
As for picking tyres pressures suitable for you... I ran 30/34 to improve the life of the tyres, and still found them grippy enough. But I run below recommended on the 9R (34/40) for a little more grip.

well they do, but in the end, its a funny thing........you can be 60kg wringing wet on a ZZR250 and run 28lb in the front tyre at a track day........or 110kg in gear on a ZX12R , and you will still be running 28lb in the front tyre at a track day........Neka79 wrote:on what bike tho?? all tyres have different ratings..and different bikes, have different weights (as do riders) which can affect it.,..matt76 wrote:I would go higher on the air pressures to be honest, I drop mine to 28 for the track anfd run about 34 on the street.

I think air pressure is one of those *things* that is difficult to pin down to an *exact* amount for a particular bike/rider combo, but the general advice about lower for track, a bit higher for street, and a bit higher again for touring and/or pillion use, seems to ring true for every bike, for any capacity, regardless of rider ability......
