I live with fear everyday but on weekends she lets me ride.
. Win Lotto take me Brad, I know how to use your race stand. 
Or for something a lot closer to home and a damn sight cheaper.
There is only two places in the world have street racing. Ireland (which SORT of includes the IOM) and New Zealand.
Their series is near the end of the year and Gilesy went over last time and came second.
One of my dreams to FINALLY get to the Cemetry circuit in (excuse spelling) Wanganui...
Must be a fairly old clip too, that was a Britten at the start and Joey Dunlop (and others) are on an old RVF

Australia could run a road race down Gippsland way.
Years ago, when I was a rally director for a state rally championship round, we actually got shire permission to close a whole heap of roads in the Gippsland area to run rally cars on. We had to get individual permission from residents to use the roads, which was a bit of an effort, but worked out ok.
Country people can be very friendly, at just about every house we went to people would offer us a piece of cake/biscuits and a cup of tea and were really happy to have the event.
Interestingly the worst and hardest people to deal with were the people who lived in Melbourne and had 'hobby' farms and get away places in the country. Even if they weren't going to be home on the day, they still objected, until you used a bit of psychology on them (pointing out how everyone else in the area was sooo looking forward to the event and how disappointed they would be when they found out that they had objected....lol...weren't we bad...lol).
A couple of amusing things happen too. Like the old bloke who objected because the AI guy had to get through, so he wouldn't sign. I was standing there talking to this guy, trying to think who the hell the AI guy was! We had contacted the dairy companies and worked out their times and pickup runs, we had spoken to the logging companies, the CFA, the police, the shire councils and everyone else who might be affected by our closing the roads but who the hell was the AI guy, why was it so important that he get through and why hadn't we been told about him???
The old bloke also threatened to drive his tractor out onto the road and stop the event. Well, I thought, we definitely weren't going to use this bit of road if someone might get hurt because of his actions and certainly not if someone objected so much.
The old blokes house was the second last on the road we wanted to use and only two corners from the end. I called into the last house, I dunno why because I had thought that it was pointless seeing this old bloke had said no and wouldn't sign. By chance this place belonged to the old bloke's son and I told him what the old bloke said and asked about the AI guy, he just laughed.
The AI guy was the artificial Inseminator and apparently if he had a pick up or a delivery he had to get through....lol.
Plus the old bloke hadn't been able to drive the tractor for 4 years...lol.
I still used the road but stopped it short of the old blokes place and quietly transported past so as not to upset him.
There was also two old Italian blokes who wouldn't sign, refused point blank, no way. We happen to have a slim blond girl with some large assets and we sent her there as a last ditch effort to get the use of the road. She came back with the signatures and laughed how they spent the whole time staring at her tits....lol.
It's also funny how people objections can be overcome if you use some a little bit of creative thinking. Like some people objected to the waste of fuel running these cars just for fun. We would point out that a Jumbo jet uses more fuel on take off then these cars use in an entire year. I was always amused because jets run on kerosene...lol...and no one ever picked that up....lol. And the other was how much damage all these cars would cause to the roads. We had been to Vicroads who happily provided us with info about much damage a log truck/milk tanker/petrol tanker/semi etc caused to the roads (which btw is enormous).
Country areas are always looking for ways to boost their economy and are very receptive to well organised and promoted events held in their area. If look at the success of Targa Tasmania I would say that a good bike event would be worthwhile try.
