Post by QLDZX6R »

Do any of you out there know what this bike is,it's in the Nov 06 edition of Bike Magazine but no comment on it. Has the same Gold around the tank as AJS but looks like a V-Twin.Mirrors look Ducati Sportclassic?

off, but not off the shelf .. Back in the 90's there was a Japanese mob who used to make cafe-racer clones with a Hog motor in their own frame, can't remember the name, but they looked a bit like this one.

o.k, don't know why you'd choose a harley engine..maybe ducati or aprillia. Thought it might be a new retro from ducati or a new Norton (Yanks have bought their name)

The US Nortons are a really nice piece of kit. I have a few good photos of them, but scanner is u/s at the moment......

If you google on Norton-US, you should find the website. There are 2 models, a streeter and a sportier 'race' version. They both look like the ducks guts !!

:? you sure ? They look like Sporty cases - its definitely a unit-construction motor, and it has all the hallmarks of a HD.......the rear master-cylinder, RH chain drive etc.........not many Jappa's have a RH drive chain ........

The best Vincent copy I have ever seen was built by a bloke in Queensland a few years ago - it was based on a Yammie XV1000 motor, and it looked *fantastic*. It featured in 'Streetbike' magazine at the time (later to become RAPID.....eventually....)

O.k, Simon Weir (assistant Editor-Bike Magazine) finally replied to my question and it appears it is a Harley Engine inside a Norton Frame,he not positive on size but thinks its a 1200.
