As in you ride it like its a 200kmh dickhead missile and they are afraid of you because of that? Thanks for your lucid insightful comment, now pike off.

Given that I've been lane split by a landcruiser (she used the bicycle lane to get in there) its not like I left much room. I've had a commodore taking a demo for a run tailgate me, with the sales rep in the car... the list grows every day.

I'm interested in the things others do to deal with the idiots.
You have no idea how I ride, so you are posting more shit straight up.
But anyway if your gunna sit in traffic and be a victim Iam sure you will get it every day.
Tip, wear a smaller dress so you can lane split and make sure all your riding rear is top shelf cause your gunna need it sooner or later.

l've seen the point of view from both ends (motorbike and Semi) and can tell you that they don't care if it's a bike or truck. Sure you get the occasional driver who sees the truck in the rearview mirror and shit themselves, but more often they put themselves in the position to get killed.

l put it down too people living in thier own little world, dont care if they nearlly kill someone just to get home 2 mins quicker, cant miss that important phone call...ect ect.

I'm quite 'lucky' that I grew up in a place where riding 'as you do' in black spurs means a sure death.

But I have also find out here that going fast enough means you only worry for the things in front of you :D

Hmmmm intersting and plenty of stereotyping going on here....

I'm a cage driver.
I also drive a 4wd
My wife is also a cage driver.
She is one of those evil soccer mum type 4wders...

We are obviously the most dangerous ppl on the road for motorcyclists..
Neither of us have had an accident with one though..

So we must be talking about the non rider, cage drivers then.
My parents are those evil old ppl in 4wd's..
They've never had an accident with a motorcyclists either...

So it must be the others.!

Oh yeh, I know who it is...

ITS THE DICKHEADS WHO HAVE THERE THERE HEADS UP THERE ASSES.
and it doesn't matter what they drive or there sex, and motorcyclists are not void of these types....
They'll run into your car as easy as they'll run into your motorcycle..
They may even be riding a motorcycle when they do it...

Banning Dickheads is the only solution..
But we will loose a lot of motorcyclists....

Normally I don't double-post, but MadKaw has a point - my missus also drives a 4WD and takes the kids to T-ball (soccer in 2 years  ) and guess what - she has *never* had an accident with a biker as well...........neither have I, although I am always on the lookout for some gumbie newbie dipshit on their L-plates on a Honda, so I can drive STRAIGHT OVER THE F'N TOP OF THEM and live the stereotype to the max !!!

I know plenty of sane 4WD drivers, have seen a fair number of insane Excell drivers, and a fair few crotch rocketeers on bikes. So size of vehicle only has to do with the relative space taken and the mass involved.

I agree, ban the idiots. The net result would be a lot less people on the roads, and a lot fewer fatalities.

Gos said "I can only imagine with some measure of horror what it must be like on a 250 "

...and even worse on a NSR150...
I donna getta no respect.... from anyone....
Seriously it IS worse the smaller the bike
Or maybe they just hate the whipper snipper noise.
Lucky it is nippy enough to get out of the road.

I actually think it has to do with the amount of risk you pose to them more than anything. A semi makes a big dent a bike a (relatively) small one.
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

Frogs, that reminds me of one guy i see commuting most mornings.

He/She rides a scooter in the left lane along general holmes drive (80 zone, he does about 70-85). The poor fool does *NOTHING* about lane ownership and sticks to the far left of his lane.

Some asshats creep right up behind him and overtake him half in his lane still. Most are courteous and give him his full lanes clearance, but still theres that element of "give them an inch and the fuggers will take your whole goddamn lane".

Riding my older bikes (the 450 and to some extent the 750) i used to get idiots trying to overtake me on the right (and the left on the odd occasion) when i was just keeping up with traffic. Doesn't happen as much on the RF now, mind you the arse on that bike combined with the bagrack makes the bike look a shedload more imposing than it used to look. I still get idiots trying it on from time to time nowdays too.

having spent some time of the road with zx12s and zx9's IN MY MIRRORS , their headlights really stand out like dogs balls,

great for safety, not sure about the earlier 9s, with only one headlight, btu the twin light models would get seen very easily by cages!!
