Dead VFR on the Putty today.

Post by Strika »

I did the Putty today after fitting the new indicator to the 9. (45 mins whoa to goa using the wonderful standard issue ZX9R tool kit and some elec connectors from supa cheap!)

Jus t after Colo river on the way up I spotted this....anyone know who's it is and if they made it???? It looked very very ugly. Some of you Sydneyites shouldknow it, even I have seen the bike before!!!

That's a weird one. First impression is a serious highside and cartwheel action, bit no damage to the back of the bike. Can't see that else would pull the front out like that, except a hard drop from a fast mono...

Hope the pilot is OK

Ouch.
Do you know what the story behind the crash is, Strika? I'm trying to imagine angles / picture what happened.
Road: 2005 ZX10R - not named yet

Track: 2006 ZX6R - Yoshi (with a very Genki undertail)

Damn, they must have been honkin.
The bottom end of the putty is a pretty fast area, mostly 120 plus with none of the 35 or 45 k corners like the top end...

Could be from Oroads or cbr250.com....
Hope there OK, but seeing as the bike is still there I'm guessing probly not.???

From what I can see as far as skid marks and moved gravel, is that the rider came down the hill through the right hander ran wide onto the gravel with a handfull of front brake, the bike slid under the armco railing and the forks met with the uprights holding the armco railing. That's why I figure that the rider may not be a very happy camper at the moment, if at all still with us!!!!!! It looked horrible!

I thought I saw a thread on a stolen rhonda VFR with the replica stickers
(a weird wardrobe for the worlds best sports tourer?)
taken from the side of the road near Beenleigh QLD.
Piccys got yella plates though.

I was worried for a second. I went up the Putty on Sunday and spoke with some guys that I didnt know, one on a VFR400 and another on a Bros (+ 2 others) and these guys were absolutely crazy. One of them was tipping into left handers from the outside white line on the opposite side of the road apexing on the white line on the correct side of the road and then running wide again on exit. At one stage he went the full length of a 200m straight between a sharp right and sharp left on the wrong side of the road. When I saw this post I thought it might have been him, but I dont think he had the race numbers on the ducktail.

Still that one looks pretty bad - odd that the forks are bent out - wheres the fairing gone?

Well it could have been "nakedafied" from a past incident. or a trackbike with the raceglass taken off and so on so forth.
