Yeah, when we got him, he was 3yrs old and had spent his whole 3yrs locked up in the concrete backyard of a flat, his coat was stuck together with his own shit ..... We gladly could have shot the bitch that had him, Lucy the Jack Russell wouldn't eat and weighed under 3kg when got her ... vet found she had cancer .. vet did a great job, she weighs nearly 7kg now and the vet reckons she still got a few good years in her ......

Human babies and dogs, some people should not be allowed to have anything that lives :x

My Mastiff female was forceably removed from a cruel hunter in the Campbellfeild area (vic) and given to me (the rescue person who does this does it because the RSPCA is bound by rules and laws, god love her), this prik even though was a hunter abused his dogs to a state of feverish nastyness (blooding and belting) to hunt boar.
You do not need to abuse a dog to work, even as a pig dog, she would easily do the work now
This weighed heavily on my mind when i advertised my pups, had many many poeple call, some were just outragous and no way they were getting any. I would rather put a pup down than let it go to arseholes like that, would be hard to do but thats what I think.
One guy wanted as many pups as he could get,not 3, all of them  tell me what he was gunna do.

i am happy to say they have so far gone to the right people or so I hope, I know at least 1 will be very muchly loved aye Terrie  :D

Ralph was a Pound Puppy also, he still has issues 10 years later, now they are all spoilt rotten, Bonnie came from a breader a very good one from Albion Park that interviewed us before we could buy her, she replaced my old girl Brandy who was a Cairn Terrier ( a Totto from the Wizard of Oz ) she was the best, even at 14 years old she would rip the shit out of any man wearing work boots, gives you an idea how she was treated before I got her from the pound, matter of fact I don't trust people that don't like animals.

I will shut up now..

My boss, owns a miniture poodle Coco, she is as black as the ace of spades, I say she's a tough poodle cus she isn't shaved in any fancy way, just kept short haired and tidy all the time.

He runs alot and she goes everywhere with him, around Centenial Park, Neutral Bay etc etc, she is our office dog, when I say everywhere I mean everywhere.

Mate, talking of trust if we have new clients visit us and they enter the office and she doesn't welcome them, or they don't welcome her, look out, Chris the Boss really uses her judgment, he has never admitted to it, but ya just know.

When I had my interview 2 years ago now, I entered the office she ran up to me and I made a fuss of her and within a few minutes was having her belly rubbed and getting all the attention. I swear to God that scored the job in the first two minutes

I/we took an Indonesian guy on when we were really struggling for labour and he came along claiming he had all the skillls we required, the dog didn't stop growling or grumbling under the desk all the time he was being interviewed, then used to chase him around the factory while he was working there
Needless to say he true (bullshit) personality shone through in the end and he went on his way, there ya go, if ya dog won't trust 'em then you shouldn't.

I think I have only spent about two years of my life without a dog around the house, it just doesn't feel right.

Cats on the other hand, not really fussed about, that's Sues department

Take it easy guys.

PET RULES
To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.

Dear Dogs and Cats,

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -- canine or feline attendance is not required.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!

To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:

1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3 Are easier to train
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends
7. Don't smoke or drink
8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions
9. Don't want to wear your clothes
10. Don't need a "gazillion" dollars for college.

And finally,

11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

You might like these Jonno:

Reasons Why Dogs (and Cats) are Better than Kids

- Kibble and water are cheaper than formula and diapers.
- Dogs can go on long trips without yelling "MOM HE'S TOUCHING ME!!!!"
- Dogs never grow out of being kissed in front of their friends.
- You can cage a dog without going to jail.
- Dogs don't "backwash" crackers when sharing your soda.
- Dogs will watch classic Star Trek with you and won't laugh at the special effects.
- The older a Dog gets, the more they like you.
- Dogs don't ask why. Dogs don't ask why. Dogs don't ask why.
- Dogs don't roll their eyes when you insist Dogs today have it easier.
- Dog poop is easier to get off the wall than crayon.
- Dogs have tails, making it easier to grab them as they run away.
- When Dogs interrupt you making love, you don't have to explain that the two of you are "wrestling to see who does the dishes."
- Dogs don't grow out of their shoes every 2 1/2 months.
- Cute little puppies grow up to be dogs. Cute little babies
grow up to be teenagers.
- They never criticize your cooking.
- Nothing you do can gross them out.
- Puppies are cheaper than babies.
- With babies, you don't have a choice of breeds or bloodlines.
- Puppies can be housetrained.
- You don't have to put your puppy through university.
- Leaving your cat alone in the house for several hours will not get you investigated by social services.
- No one thinks less of you if you only feed them canned food or ready to eat food from a bag or box.

My top 4:
- No one passes you a Dog with a loaded diaper.
- Getting a puppy won't give you stretch marks.
- You can bury a dog in the backyard, no questions asked.
- Dogs, when entering those teen years, are neutered.

Not a chrismas pic but...

Rescued this baby four years ago - dumped on the side of a road and left behind - he was terrified of men when I got him but he is a very happy puppy now - spoilt rotten, big house all to himself all day, lots of love, lots of walks (was overweight when I got him).

Buddy's a cross Bull Terrier - Blue Heeler - sweetest nature unless we're not home or he doesn't like you. unfortunately he wasn't socialised wiht other animals and has a tendency to try and kill anything furry (ate the budgie...). I don't know his history so I don't let children play with him but he's found himself a great retirement home.

Per previous comments - I don't trust people who don't like animals and certainly not those Buddy doesn't like.

We had a female golden Cocker Spaniel when I was growing up, named Tara. She was the best dog in the world, and I maintain that to this day. :D My grandparents owned kennels, and some people had boarded Tara with them, and never came back for her! Us kids fell in love with her, and we begged mum & dad for her, and she became part of the family very quickly. She was about 3 when we got her, she died at 8 because some mongrel put some baitted meat out that was apparently intended for the nasty dog across the road. Tara picked it up, dragged herself to the neighbours pond for water, fell in and didn't have the strength to get herself out. The neighbours found her, rang Dad, and he and my brother went and got her, she died in Dad's arms. I locked myself in my bedroom for 3 days, absolutely heartbroken, as was the rest of the family.

We had a couple of dogs after her, but no dog has ever come anywhere near her!
Cheers,
Anne
