that reminds me, i want to put new speakers/cd system in the car at some point (speakers, and then head unit, nothing too fancy, just something a bit nicer than the OEM stuff that came with the carollacoaster..

To me, part of the attraction of riding my "ride"
Don't you mean 'biking your ride'?

 get with the programme mate !!! When you go belting into some good twisties with "My Woman From Tokyo" belting into your scone, well its heaven on a stick  and *especially* on the boring highway stretches, it can make a ride feel *heaps* shorter .....

but agree with the phone thing - I don't think anyone actually rides with a hands-free kit do they ???

yeah that would be me! not that i really have conversations on the bike, 30 seconds is good to get the message across or if im supposed to be at work and not there. I guess its cause my bike is my daily rider and I dont hate getting phonecalls.

the headset i have uses super flat speakers they dont go into your ear and are specially designed for the bike so really loud enough, bluetooth so no wires. they are about the size of a 20 cent coin and stick in the helmet i highly recoment them.

And the best thing about it is that it connects to my navigation software which is what ill probably use it mostly for... turn left in 500 meteres, turn left now.

easier that constantly looking out for roadsigns and worrying that you've missed a turn.

I am currently adapting a I-Tech Clip III which is bluetooth, so that I can use the 1 gb card I have in my phone, as well as the mobile, I am on call so it is good when you are doing a support call and you are on the bike, eventual outcome should be something similar to the motorola motorbike bluetooh headset

I think the motorola part number is HS-830

a fella i met over here actually pulled the padding out of the lid, then carefully "sculpted" out a tiny bit of foam, glued in earphones and bingo..had a lid with inbuilt speakers....

no good if ur gunna use a specific nokia/ericson headphone which doesnt use a normal phone jack....mind u this guy had a tiny mp3 player mounted in the lid also..so no cables...
