Anyway, this is the story of the little Kawasaki that could......
I went for a blast out in the mountains today with my mate Pete and his R80GS - this was main reason I built this monstrosity, to go fanging with him along the open fire trails up in the local mountain range - The Brindabella Mountains.
Mt Coree is one of the highest in the range, at 1440m (approx), which is about 800m higher than the rest of the ACT....
The track there is your typical off-road single lane goat track, but it is a heap of fun on the 750.........belting along in 2nd gear, pulling wheelies off the erosion humps that are about every 50m or so
Today was the 4th time out in the mountains since the bike was built, it has had a few minor *teething* problems, but today it ran 100% ok........well apart from the last 100m to the summit of Coree
The photo that says 'Coree Summit Road' well the *road*
Well, with all the banging and bouncing off the rocks, the fuel frothed up so much in the float bowls, that I had to let it sit for 5 minutes, within view of the summit
What a feeling !! This is a bloody hard piece of road on a good MX'er, let alone the frankenstein creation in the photos
There is nothing like launching a z750 off a 3 foot erosion hump, and getting max air !!!!
The bloke on duty in the fire tower was glad of the company, and we shot the breeze with him for about 30min........fantastic view, but a bit hazy from the bushfires in Vic....
The ride down the mountain was even more fun
Its a bloody big handful, but it is a shitload of fun as well. That will be probably the *hardest* track we do, most of the time its big open fire-trails and dirt roads, pegging along at 120-140
So all in all, a really good day - Toy Run in the morning, and getting up one of the highest local mountains in the arvo.......its time for a Jimmy I reckon !!!!
cheers
