Anyone else have this kinda problem, and have sorted a fix for it? Or should I just get my ears shrunk?

MP3 Player while riding?
I've got myself a small Iriver. Whacked the ear plugs in, chucked the lid on and took off for work. Only problem is, is that I think my ears are too big! The helmet presses the ear pieces into my ear, and they get sore after 15 or so mins.

i use sony earplugs like jason is talking about (except an older version) they work well cause you can actually hear the music with out it being super loud.
I occasionaly still get sore ears though if i have them in for a few hours at a time. That problem doesnt come up too often cause i dont normally ride for so long using the ipod.
I usually only use the ipod on the boring sections eg Freeways.

Said it before, say it again!!! I just don't get riding with music/mobile phone etc.,
To me, part of the attraction of riding my "ride"
is that I get to pull my helmet on so I am alone with my thoughts. Yeah farking scary hey!!! Imagine being trapped in my head for the duration of a 6 hour ride
But, enjoy I do!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

i have the same prob with earphones, hence why i rarely wear headphones unless going on a real long ride, otherwise i just cant b bothered..i find that the art of getting the lid on without losing the earpiece is a pain in the ass neway!!

I have a nokia 6280 with a 1gb memory card in it. Sometimes i use the MP3 player or radio if i am expecting a call, all i do is put the microphone part in the chin section of my helmet and you can make calls using voice tags and turn the radio on or off or change tracks on the MP3 player. I need some of those flat speakers and someone who is competent enough to rewire a nokia headset to get what i want.

Good enough for me to hear my work mates and the dispatcher. I actually hooked my mobile phone up to it a while back so I could listen to MP3's and answer the phone without having to take my helmet off. Seemed to work pretty well but the extra cable pissed me off after a while.mike-s wrote:what's the dynamic range on the speakers like?
Music sounded fine and considering you get a bit of wind noise, there isn't much point in having the worlds best sounding speakers.
I fitted a CD/MP3 player to the work bike, so now I just lisent to my tunes through the PA system.

sounds like the bloke's got it sorted then
. All i need to do is take my mp3 player apart and work out how its cutting out if it gets a sudden jolt, im suspecting a poor connector on one of the springs it uses for conductivity and to hold the battery door shut.
that reminds me, i want to put new speakers/cd system in the car at some point (speakers, and then head unit, nothing too fancy, just something a bit nicer than the OEM stuff that came with the carollacoaster..
