Whats up with Shell and the stupid new names ??

I put optimax extreme in my vespa et4 (150cc) and the little bitch went like an angry wasp

I can normally get the thing up to 115 on the HYW, but the scoot was getting to 120. I told my partner about it and he told me off because it too much for the pistons to handle and they'll burn out. So I had to very rarely use it.

Since the vespa only needs $10 to fill up, I have no problem with paying a few cents more for the 100% octane (sp?) fuel.

Put some petrol in my ute the other day and noticed that Shell has changed the name of their petrols.

I cant believe they call them V-power now hahahahaha how F@#KING stupid and they have 100 octane that has 5% ethanol and they call it V-power racing and want more $ for it and its got 5% shit in it ????? Hmm V-power racing just what all the doof doof drivers need to go faster maaate

Mario V-Power is the name used by shell globally for the fuel
Australia was the only country that called it Optimax
Shell is going to a global look so the stations look the same the world over
V power is a different blend to Optimax as it has more detergents in it
Wait till you see 45-85% ethanol blended fuel like in Brazil

This is one of many reasons that I do not support Shell, never have since they started telling me to get off the bike to fill up , and the Optimax debacle......

...But yes, as it appears to be the STD v-power (ex optimax) with 5% ethanol to increase the octane, it should actually be cheaper..

Dave the reason its costs more is they use the high grade motor sprit not the shitty cracked stuff used in std. unleaded

I meant the vpower race (100 oct) should be cheaper than the v-power, which I guess is the higher grade stuff than unleaded too. Cause 5% of it is ethanol which is cheaper than the high grade stuff..????

I haven't proven it on a dyno, but the bike lurves Vpower.

I discovered Vpower about a month ago. I had to fill up and pulled into a Shell. I noticed that the fuel had been rebadged and thought, "marketing gits at it again". What a surprise that there was a clear performance difference with a tank of Vpower compared to whatever was in there before.

If you believe the PR, it's a different blend to the old Optimax and has a bunch of new friction modifier additives. I reckon they're on a winner.

main differences are that it contains scrubbers to keep your bike running clear (like caltex vortex has had for ages) and friction modifiers...

I usually only use vortex 98, seems to do the job we..

wonder if it fouls your plugs like optimax did/does....?

Its in my zx6r tank and works fine. Then again I used optimax, aswell as the other brands, and never had a problem ever

optimax was never recommended for bikes, I think the guy i was talking about said that V-power wasn't either. anyone got further info?
