If people are going to offer KSRC sponsorship they really should look after all the members and be active in some way or another.
They couldn't give a flying fat rats arse when I went there... :x Fuck Race Rep,

Oh and as for the others, I'm undecided as I've had little to do with them although I have surfed their web sites for parts.

Here is my suggestion Dave...

Offer all sponsors a FREE banner on our website...

The conditions of getting the free banner are as follows

1. After 6 months the banner runs out and they will be sent an email.... They can re-apply at this point... This is free, but will prove they wish to continue with the deals (this means they can update details, and will remind them of the agreement).
2. They vow to let ALL sales staff know about the discount sothat if asked they will know what it is and how much it is.

That is my suggestion anyway, I know this is how it works on several other sites.
The world is round. It has no point.

No farkin Banners, free banners for a fark all maybe 10% if they could be bothered discount... off only some products at that... They normally pay to advertise their businesses. Let them contribute to the PI GP esky I say... 30 or so bottles of Jimmy for the Highside Campground drinkies  Give us some freebies to auction off or sell for club funding...

Who's gonna loose sleep over a discount on some products you could prob find cheaper else where, lets face it if you know the trader or can haggle you'll get a decent price anyway. That said, how many sponsers are following through?

But what would I know

cheers it's past bourbon O'clock

2 people have nothing but praise for race Rep, the reality is that's the way you get treated (perhaps) if you get served by Chris (Kris?).

Personally speaking I wouldn't know the bloke if he walked in my back yard, never seen him, does he really exist? Spoken to others at race Rep re KSRC discount and they know nothing about it..

Personally spekaing not had a great experience on the mechanical side of things from Race rep and from what I have seen Tape has EVERY FUGGIN RIGHT to be going off his nut in regards to the service he's had from Race rep.

Talk about being fucked without lube, these guys made sure they aded sandpaper to boot from what I can gather..

We won't have any banners or ads on the forum as we are self sufficient and don't need it.
We have the opportunity to have banner links on the web site, if it ever gets finished, but this will only be for those who offer discounts to members.
ATM, all the companies have to do is offer KSRC members a discount to be included in the sponsors thread. This also allows them to post offers and info to the club. It costs them nothing and puts them in front of hundreds of potential customers. Much better value than any other advertising they may do, me thinks.
Its a pity very few of them take advantage of it.
Not one of our sponsors have donated or payed KSRC (or me personaly) anything for the them to be included and noted as a KSRC sponsor..(Rob from RT screen printing excluded :-)). Yet I have been offered real $ from other companies (generally non m/c) to be linked on KSRC.. None of which have been taken up...
The point of this thread is to find out if the Sponsor arrangement is of any value to members and should we keep it...? If so, who and why.?

Dave, from what i've seen on the forums I think Narellaan Kawasaki and Kaneg do their bit to promote their specials here, would think that's about the lot though...

Wouldn't slap them ALL in the one basket, just the vast majority :D

The only way to find out if it is of any value to members, is for those members who have received discounts with a Sponsor to let the Forum know. You could run a 'Sponsor Poll' for a few weeks, this would at least set a baseline of some sort ? Results from a sponsor poll would identify those sponsors who get regular business, and those who don't, and should probably be flicked ??

Having *no* sponsors in the local area here somewhat restricts any feedback  , but like a lot of members, local discounts are already occuring anyway.....
