Aha the secret to the Strika riding style has been let out at last, I knew if I followed these ramblings for long enuf it would been revealed.

You have to ride with an erection to go fast
So thats what the donut splints are about
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

I concur - riding the posite is a blast!
That's not to say I wouldn't rather a bigger bike again - but it's fun to wring something's neck.

If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.

I was watching the Swan series from 1984 the other night & Will Hagon was carrying on about how "ORSUM" Gardner's NSR500 Gp bike was ..it had a mind numbing 130 odd bhp at the wheel Shocked
Freaky, but been watching this on CD too just lately... reading through this post also thought how much better the over the counter full sports kit is now than what was on the track as *exotic* then.

Reckon I have as much fun now as then though. Probably not as much to prove ... maybe

shit im not that old, but i feel compelled to put up my 5c worht (rounded up of course)...due to the fact that my 1st big bike (after a messy stint with a z750 that i rode twice and gave back) was a cb900 "roll-adoor"

now picture this...a 230kg?? bike with abt 75-80HP and a 19yo 5'8 and 65kg un-experienced mick-doohan wannabe riding it!!

boy was it interesting.... i remeber my dad following me one day in his commodore ute, saying i looked like a midget trying to hump and elephant the way i was climbing all over it, trying to use all my weight to persuade it to go round corners....and boy did it take sum persuading...

then there was the time riding home in the wet when i dumped the cluth in 2nd, and had the 100mm wide rear tyre (shinko-hard as fuk as i was broke) fishtailing itself silly and my mates riding behind waiting for me to get spat off rodeo cowboy style...

yea..they didnt handle..didnt brake...took forever to get wound up (i think this has a lot to do with stuff like how fast we ride our current bikes)...remeber they dont accelerate as hard, so not only is mid-corner speed down cos of ground clearance, but corner exit speed was down... on top of corner entry being crap due to braking...

ohhhh i cant wait to ride again...

geeez
yours was mustabin a dog
Kawasaki rated the GeepeeX at 78kw or 106ps..standard flywheel
then add cams and zorst ..the 105rw I quote was on the Dynobike
dyno while they were tuning the carbs after the headgasket
timing chain and cams got done not long after I got the bike

btw
your 80 rwhp means a 20-25% transmission loss
from standard...thats not good I reckon

what you say sounds like my ol' GeepeeZED750
with the old aircooled engine..we talking same bike?

cheers
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!

Apparently Gos is the burnout king as well. :)

Well I still ride an old dunger lol. And I try to ride it fast.

Just like all the others - No Power (GPX600), no brakes, bad handling and shitty 16" wheels and tyres front and rear.

What fun!

The rear tyre is quite shagged now, so spinning it up is getting a bit easier, but still needs a heap of lean angle to do it, or a nice wet road. I can get it spinning through 4th now at way over 100 lol.

I would dearly love to have a go at racing something like an old 750 2 stroke tripple.....
